Nice and large for recycling

I needed something large to put our paper recycling in that suited our kitchen (needed something that could accommodate pizza boxes :). The dark bronze would have been my first choice (not available in this style) so I chose the white. It's a great size for recycling, unfortunately they don't make the Q bags in the clear which means the handy little storage area at the back of the can goes unused. It would be great if simplehuman made more sizes of bags for recycling with all the recycling programs that communities have in place. At the end of the week I only have about 5 gallons of regular garbage but easily fill this 55L with papers and another 55L with plastics and metals.

Great trash can

This was a great purchase. It is very easy to keep clean even with small Children’s fingerprints. The built-in trash bag holder it very convenient. I have had mine for almost 3 years and love it! It has a 10-year warranty and great customer service.

LOVE MY TRASH CAN!!!

I bought my original simplehuman trashcan about 5 years ago and then 6 months ago, it stopped working and only opened about 4 inches. I was getting ready to purchase a new one when I stumbled upon a review about SH replacing someone trashcan for free as it also stopped working. I contacted the company and they sent me a brand new one in less than a week. I definitely love a company that stands behind their products as it encourages customer loyalty! Thank you SH!!!

Cat-proof?!!

This is probably the fourth trash can we've bought in the past year. We've tried multiple designs as well as wildlife proofing devices in an attempt to keep an extremely determined cat out of the kitchen garbage. So far, this is the most successful - it's too heavy and stable to knock over, the pedal is too narrow for him to get on and press even if he does figure that out and the lid is both heavy enough and designed in a way that seems to make it so he can't use his nose to push it up and get in or scratch at the bag, so I'm hoping it will be the last can I need to buy for quite some time. Plus, it looks great!

finish is missing on a few places

Love the size of the trash can but it is flimsy and there were scratches on the lid and a place on the front where the finish is missing.

A lot of times I buy products with a warranty and think to myself that I am sure I won’t be able to use the warranty.
I am sure I said that when I purchased my simplehuman trash can.
I expected to get a denial or something for my warranty claim due to stainless steel peeling and lid hinge malfunction.
Nope!... that was not the case.
Customer service rep got back with me via email within 24 hours and I had a new trash can within a week.
I will never buy another product after this event. Oh... not to mention the can has been a game changer for me. I bought the can because my lab (dog) kept getting into the trash for a late night snack (that would not agree with his tummy). Not only did this can resolve that issue, you will never walk into my house and smell my trash because this can contains the smell perfectly.
