I never thought I'd spend so much on a trash can, but I'm happy with it. It's really a great trash can. Great company too. We had ours a year when the rose gold came off in a few areas. Not sure why. I contacted them and they resolved the issue by sending us a new one. Very happy with their response.

I like the concept of the motion sensor, but often the lid opens when I just walk by the can. Also, the base is not terribly solid and the can tips when I empty it

I appreciate not having to touch the trash can lid, especially while doing food prep. However, it’s a bit sensitive, if I walk too close it opens which unnecessarily runs down the battery.

I love my simplehuman trash can. I had one for 16 years and still works great but I upgraded to new sensor one and new color. It’s beautiful black stainless and sensor feature is awesome.

This can being automatic has spoiled me to when I go visit ours homes, I always walk up to their can and expect it to open. I love the quality of material it is made of and the can is beautiful. The design with the “J” trash bags you can fill the bags to the maximum without wasting bags. I would be lost with out my simplehuman can!! I Love It!
