Collector Quality, fun build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start out by saying the details on this set are amazing. Once you open the big main box you find 2 separate boxes inside. Inside each of those boxes are several numbered plastic bags. Follow the instruction booklets very carefully. Only open a bag once you are to the corresponding numbered step. If you buy this for your child... unless they are an experienced excellent builder they will need some help. Help your child resist the urge to open multiple bags at once. My 6 year old liked to help me sort pieces. My 9 year old was able to build beside me, with some substantial help. My 12 year old was able to build some steps independently, and need some light assistance. The set comes with 6 detailed and articulated figures and a bird (screech). The figures look just like the characters I grew up with from the cartoon. As you build the mountain pieces there are fun hidden faces in the structure.. see my pics for examples. My kids and I both loved the rubbery texture of some of the decorative and detailing pieces. The snake body that wraps around the mountain is very solid once built. My kids were able to pick it up and move it around without any fear of it disassembling. One of my favorite practical features from this set... is the storing feature. The mountain opens for full access to each layer inside. This is great for playing and for displaying. You can store all the figures and accessories inside the mountain, as it closes, securing the inside pieces. Being able to close and seal the mountain makes it easy to pick it up and move it around. My husband who is a collector loves it for the quality and nostalgia. My kids (boys and girls) have lots of fun playing with it, and acting out their own imaginative world. If you love He-Man you will love this set. If you love quality builds you will be impressed with this set.

Massive. Challenging. Totally worth the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son and I built this beast on our kitchen table. It was quite the undertaking, we probably put about 15 hours in over a one week period. It's very detailed comes with several MOTU characters. It was challenging for us and we play with a lot of building toys but totally worth the time.

Be the Master of the Universe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This play set is HUGE!!! Let's start with the packaging. The packaging is incredible, from the photography to the interior artwork, and the unboxing is so much fun too, this team deserves all the praises! Now let's get to the good stuff and not so good stuff, the play set. The good stuff, the mini figures are so cool, they look amazing and this set includes not one, not two, but SIX figures! Snake Mountain is incredibly detailed, it's incredible to see how the individual pieces look like rocky terrain or part of the fortress. Really satisfying to see how everything comes together. The not so good stuff, overall, putting this play set was challenging, I would consider it an advanced build, not for the kiddos and set aside a serious amount of time to put this set together, lol. However, the final build it is extremely satisfying. Overall, the family truly loved putting this together. As an 80's kid, the pure nostalgia of looking at the packaging artwork and seeing the figures come alive in Snake Mountain is a true dream.

Has Wow Factor!

So my son is no where near done, even after working on quite a bit. It's definitely a project, I love that he has something to keep him occupied!
My kiddo loves building these type of things and he thought it looked awesome even without knowing the characters. He was thrilled to get such a big set and he and his friend think "it's one of the coolest builds ever" so he is really enjoying working on it in his free time.
The entire box is huge and honestly, so cool with the close ups of the build that my kid is keeping the box. It's split into 2 sub boxes with an instruction book for each (each with an art sleeve) so that you don't have a ton of bags to sort through.
My husband fondly remembers He-Man and while my son didn't know He-Man before, we have been getting more family time in watching it all together and helping kiddo build the castle. It definitely brought the set more to life for him.

My son has had a slight problem getting some of the bricks to click together fully which can frustrate him from time to time and cause a bit of instability. And since it's so purple, it can be a bit challenging finding the correct pieces and discern which piece of which shade he's looking at in the booklet. I feel like some of the detail pieces on the outside fall off a little bit too easily as well while he's still building. We both thought the soft vines were really cool as well as the fact that a fair few of the spikes where on swivel bricks so they could be moved around easily to "style" as desired.
I would recommend this to a friend!

MOTU MEGABLOX Fans this one’s for you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mattel MEGABLOX collab on the Masters of the Universe Snake Mountain was a complete home run in my opinion. Right out of left field something not expected that was executed perfectly bringing the iconic Snake Mountain to a fun brick building experience. Even though I highly recommend this set to not only Masters of the Universe Fans but also to brick building fans there are a few dislikes or should I say petty gripes I have as well as a lot of things I truly enjoy when it comes to this set. Some of my petty gripes include the build of the gates, the bone throne and the tedious pink rubber worm builds throughout the set, these pieces are small, tedious and can be a little annoying at times and I just feel that the set would benefit tremendously from having these bits preassembled for you. I can admit during the first half of the build I became frustrated with some of those builds but it lightened up and was more enjoyable during the second half of the build. Now as far as things I did like was the overall look of the set once complete, the playability of the set, the figures are amazing and have GREAT articulation and great details and paint apps. The snake being articulated, the level of details are amazing. Great job to those at Mattel and MEGABLOX for a well executed set.

Amazing Build

A large build!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a massive undertaking. The instruction booklets (yes multiple) are large and the build takes multiple days. The biggest issue we had with the building was that it took up our kitchen table for days, and my son needed some help. He got a little bored but eventually got it finished and loved the finished product. I would recommend this product but be aware it will take a while and may require assistance for some builders.

Amazing blocks but make sure to have time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy was opened in the theater room on the floor since it arrived in such a large box. The box itself was about or a little more than 2 feet long. From first opening the box it was truly an amazing presentation. It was perfect and had stunned us all especially for my 13 year old. The images of the toy on the box as well as how well packaged it was definitely added some shine to this awesome mega blocks kit. My 13 year old definitely appreciated how both sides of this He-man kit were separated into a section 1 and section 2 and how each section came with its own booklets. I will have to say, even though this mega blocks arrived beautifully it has been a bit of a hassle to understand the booklets and to be able to get the blocks to click together properly. My 13 years old and even I at times felt like there wasn’t enough steps provided within the booklets to achieve what was being shown, like if steps were missing. So be prepared to be on standby to assist quite often and for your child to take some breaks to complete this cool looking kit.
