As young parents with toddler, a pregnant wife, and two shedding dogs - no one has time for upkeep on the floors. This device has been AMAZING to keep the floors clean and manage the crazy dog hair that piles up daily.
After I mapped out the floorplan, I have routines set up for it to clean various zones of my house. One touch button - just need to do a little set up and press the button and walk away. Set up: pick up dog/children's toys and any other items on the floor, lift chairs onto table restaurant style, open all the doors in the cleaning zone, etc.
I do this routine typically at night (or leaving the house), and set it to triple clean/deep wash setting. This setting takes the most time as it does a very intense scrub with a tight mesh pattern to seriously clean every square inch (it ends up needing to recharge midway). Overall it takes about 4 hours to clean my downstairs this way (1000sqft), but I wake up to squeaky clean floors and it's amazing!
I have luxury vinyl plank flooring, so this robot is super effective. No carpets so can't comment, but I can imagine it could struggle to get pet hair off it.
The AI is incredible, does a very good job with obstacle avoidance and takes a photo of whatever it runs into and sends you a notification. I haven't actually run this thing with my kids/dogs running around, it just seems like a better idea to let it do it's thing alone.
My night cleaning routine uses a full tank of clean water, so every morning after I run it I make sure to empty the dirty tank. You may have read a lot of reviews complaining about the smell...well, yea it's pretty dirty water you're smelling (smells like dirty plumbing/sewer smell). That's dirt that's no longer on your floor! The key is don't leave the dirty tank sitting there - empty it as soon as possible and things won't get too bad. The mop washing station can get pretty gross too, you'll want to take that apart and rinse/wash everything about once a month.
Maintenance wise, I've had it for just two months and run my routines every two days and haven't had to replace anything yet except swapping out mop pads to wash them. The Roborock software tells you the status of every part and what maintenance is required, so the only thing you need to really keep track of is the mop pads and dirty tank. I bought the cyclone bin but haven't installed it yet because the bag that came with the vacuum is still not full yet.
I also bought the mop dryer module, which does a very good job of drying the mop pad after use - which would otherwise remain damp for 12-24 hours after use which is a magnet for bacteria and bad smells. Is it worth it? I suppose so, helps mitigate smells and extends the use of mop pads between washes.
All in all, I am glad I bought this device. I'd argue it's the best one on the market but it's the first smart vacuum I've ever owned so I don't have much experience. I can't imagine having a smart robot without the docking station - it makes it SO easy. If you have the money and you need it - BUY IT.

i love the roborock vacuums. the mapping is better and easier than Samsung, shark, eufy, ecovac. they have better suction than the other ones. I like that these map with lidar instead of just bumping into stuff. minor things that most people won't run into is a single job can't be more than 2000 sqft. or it errors and just stops cleaning and goes back and docks. you are limited to 20 unique names per account, so if you run 2 machines both machines are counted as 1 for names. on a map you can only have 15 rooms marked. if you have a room with more than one entrance it is hard to separate it from the other rooms if you are trying to redo the layout

everything about this machine is amazing including the support. I called them tonight at 11:20 PM local time and I and immediately, I was speaking to a human being, who solved my problem in about two minutes. I’m having a hard time believing just how great this machine and support is. Absolutely outstanding.

Love the roborock! Our hardwood floors tend to get dirty very quickly, and we run the roborock daily. Our floors are now spotless! Setting a schedule is very easy, and emptying and filling the tanks is also simple. Highly recommend, this product is a life changer!

Easy to set up and get running. The only criticism I have is how the directions refer to a seperate set of documents containing pictures, so if you lose that, it's pretty tough to follow.

We got this for our church, and currently it is cleaning about 7000 sq. ft a week!! I have been blown away at it, thoroughness and efficiency! We have it running at night, so it never interferes with anything during the day. It vacuums in and out of chairs perfectly, it mops, amazingly, and our church board has been blown away! We were hesitant at first to plunk down this kind of money, but it is absolutely worth it!
