Does the Job

It took me a bit to get used to getting a run started on it but once I got over that learning curve I am able to use it like I want to. I like the different things it tracks on Garmin Connect. I wear it all the time and hope it lasts (only time will tell).

For a running watch, this is very inexpensive. I really enjoy being able to have the data from the watch viewable on my phone, from the Connect App and the Health App. I run on a cross country team for my school, and we are often asked to pace ourselves and give our heart rates, which are both displayed on the watch. You can cycle through different workouts and it displays relevant data for that workout, for example, miles per hour while biking, mile-pace for running. Besides this, it has sleep analysis features, so you can adjust your sleeping habits for a more healthy lifestyle. One of my favorite features of it is it’s incredible battery life. I can use the various interfaces frequently, and only have to charge it every three days. Thanks Garmin!

I am really enjoying the features of this watch. If you really desire to track your daily progress and performance, I recommend you get this watch. Very good for those who are just starting out. Simple features, but very informative.

I bought this watch at my sons suggestion when I was looking for a simpler fitness watch. It has exceeded my expectations and has motivated me to be more dedicated to my exercise routines. It has so much more capability than I’am currently using and I look forward to expanding my use as my fitness level increases. I love the VO2 max levels and I started out with a value of 33 on 5/4/19 and I’am currently at a level of 38 which equates to a fitness age of 52 for a man of 65 years of age this is sweet music to my ears. I do truly love this watch.

Love my Garmin

I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 45 about 6 weeks ago and love it. It is accurate and easy to use. I downloaded a training app and am training for my next half marathon with my coach. I like that the watch syncs with the app on my phone within a couple of minutes of finishing a run so that I can look at my stats right away. The watch is a huge improvement over the brand x watch I had before. All the features encourage me to keep up the training. I like looking at my pace per lap after a run. I am getting my miles in and maybe even running a little faster. Love it!

Garmin Forerunner 45S
on August 25, 2019

I've had my Forerunner 45S for 2 weeks, having replaced my Forerunner 620. I decided that I didn't need a Garmin with all the bells and whistles of some of the other newer models - I use the basic GPS features for distance, pace and elevation gain, but I wanted to be able to program interval workouts into the watch, download the data into Garmin Connect, and eliminate the poorly fitting HR chest strap.
I I love the wrist based HR monitor, which is the main change I was looking for from the 620. The 45S watch is lightweight and comfortable. The USB charging cable that plugs into the back of the watch is also a huge upgrade from the charging clips on other models (the charging clip on my 620 was often "temperamental" and would drain the battery instead of charging it - not ideal to discover when you grab your watch for an early morning run!) Having used the 620 for years with a touch screen and now transitioning away from that and navigating with buttons again on the 45S takes a little adjustment. I have yet to program an interval workout into this watch, but assume it will be as easy as programming the 620. The only drawback I've found thus far is syncing the watch with Garmin Connect on my phone - I always have to turn the bluetooth off and then back on to get it to sync, and it takes much longer to sync a single run than the 620 did (the 45S often takes a couple of minutes to completely sync the run). Overall, seems to have been a great purchase!
