Simple, easy to use watch

Amazing gadget

I’ve only had it for a week or two. It does way more than my last Garmin which died young. i love the HR which showed I can’t get my HR up. Only time it went above 100 was in church. Never running. It also shows how much REM sleep you get and your VO2 max. Only problem. I can’t figure out out to work it for runs. I will fix this I’m sure or I can call Garmin help line.

Great sports watch for beginners

I love my Garmin! Love that I am able to use Garmin connect to select a coach and training plan that is right for me and then all the workouts go right to the watch. It also has enough stats for a beginning runner and can track all my other activities such as yoga and biking. The safety features are great as well. I run alone and it is nice that my husband can use the live track feature to see where I am in real time.

LOVE

I have never owned a fitness watch, let alone a Garmin. I started running a couple of years ago and was frustrated that my treadmill wasn’t giving me an accurate heart rate, and I had a hard time keeping track of outside runs. This watch has provided that and so much more for me! I am more motivated to workout as I see my steps and weekly count rise. I love the ability to customize the watch face and my workouts. I get compliments on it all the time. I wear it every day, and I am so happy with this purchase!

Too complicated for me

Over several days I tried to set this up but found it too complicated. I returned it and bought a Fitbit Versa instead. It is much easier to work with since it has a touch screen rather than a bunch of confusing buttons to press. Sorry!

Outstanding features!

As a disabled runner, the watch face is easy to understand. The GPS is fast! This is like having my coach follow me for training. After the software is easy to keep track with followers who run worldwide. Thank you Garmin. - Jeff

In Love

This is my first Garmin, and I absolutely LOVE it so far. It looks beautiful and functions great. It finds the GPS satellites quickly so I'm never waiting long to start my run. I love programming speed workouts into the watch - it takes the thinking out of the workout and pushes me to not quit on a tough workout because I have to finish what I programmed! I also love that it is waterproof. My last fitness tracker (not Garmin) was not and its annoying to have to take it off when you run in the rain. It was such a great value for the price and I would highly recommend it to any runner.

Great Watch... even for a non-runner

The Forerunner 45 was just what I was looking for. It supports many different activites in addition to running (ie walking, cycling, indoor training,...) and accepts an ANT+ chest strap as a heart rate monitor (HRM) in addition to the built in wrist HRM. The 45's wrist HRM is much better than the one included in my prior Vivosmart so the chest strap may not be as important anymore.
If you are looking or a super general purpose budget fitness watch you will likely be pleased with the Forerunner 45.
