Good Value With Great Data

I enjoy my new watch. The amount of data it collects is worth the value alone. The only down side is that the watch is not very intuitive. I assumed I knew how to operate it, and I read the instructions, but still can't figure out how to start a work out, or the proper work out.

Not Great

The watch was a gift from wife. Not great watch, but it was also very affordable. Price was good but features are not. The watch is not intuitive, it takes time getting used to the buttons, it’s not Bluetooth compatible with many devices such as a peloton. I would not buy again nor recommend. Better brands available with a high price tag which offer better technologies. Sorry I couldn’t offer a better review.

Great for Runner's

I should have bought my Forerunner 45 sooner! I presently only use it for running, so I can't comment on its many other features. The stand-alone GPS is very accurate as compared to my known route length. The heart rate readings are very close to my other measurement methods. I customized my running activity display to show heart rate, distance and total time on one screen. Perfect for me! A nice touch is that ater each mile, the time for that mile is displayed for a few seconds following a notification tone. I turn my F45 off between runs, so I can't comment on battery life. I am so glad to have buttons instead of the on-screen feature selection method of my previous running companion. Note that average and max heart rate for a run can only be viewed via the Garmin "Connect" app. This is fine as the information is immediately available on the app once I get back to my phone. If you have previously paired the F45 with your phone, the resync & run data download is automatic; no buttons are pressed. I check my phone for an outside air temperature reading after each run, so checking the Garmin app as I cool down is not a bother. The app also has a graph of the heart rate versus time and a route display; among many other parameters and displays I don't use. Did I already mention that I am so glad I own this watch? The price is very reasonable and it does all that I need and then some. Perhaps I'll eventually discover some feature of a more expensive model that I can no longer live without. However, I doubt that will ever happen as I run only because I enjoy it and to stay in shape. I am not training for marathons...

Novice Runner - First Fitness Watch

I've had the Forerunner 45 for a few days now and I'm pleased with the performance so far. The way that it that it takes your metrics and displays the data in a way that's easy to understand. By far the sleep tracker and running coach are my favorite features.
