IT is clunky and not intuitive

I had a previous garmin that was pretty simple. This one is anything but and, so far, I'm pretty dissatisfied. I'll keep at it... but it's FAR more complicated than it should be for straightforward tasks.

Needs an Instruction Manual

The watch is exactly what I expected and wanted. The Connect app is excellent at collecting and presenting a variety of health data. However, the instructions for use are really poor - almost non-existent. After telling you what the 5 buttons do, you are pretty much on your own. I find this unacceptable from a company with products as good as Garmin. Hire someone who knows how to write and how the watches work and let them produce a decent manual. Other that that major problem, the watch is excellent.

I bought this after being unhappy with both the Apple Watch and Samsung due to either constantly having to charge it or inaccurate mileage when I ran. This watch can go a week with a charge and have no issues. It does everything I need and then some would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!!!

Great GPS watch

Purchased the Forerunner 45 after using an Apple Watch series 3 for the past few months. For me, I wanted something simple that does exactly what you would need from a GPS watch without all the extra stuff that bumps up the cost. The forerunner 45 does just that. It’s simple, looks great at 42mm (one of the best looking Garmin watches imo), collects the fitness data you need, and pairs seamlessly with Garmin Connect. It may not have features like music and a touch screen, but I usually play music from my phone and actually prefer no touchscreen on my watch. The buttons on this are perfect. Also, despite being made primarily of plastic, the watch still feels high quality and it’s super comfortable on the wrist.
If you’re into having all the extra bells and whistles that come with a typical smartwatch, this may not be for you. If you’re in the market to buy a great looking watch for running/everyday use that also doesn’t come at a huge price point, the Garmin Forerunner 45 is for you.
