Nice features but frustrating navigation

I bought this a few days ago after Fitbit Charge 2 stopped working. The menu screens are not easy to navigate. I frequently end up with music screen when I just want to return to the main watch face after checking heart rate or steps, and I still can’t get certain displays that I see in online videos.

Got it as a gift. Too complicated. All I want to do is find out how fast, and how far I walk during a workout. Too many useless features for me.

I did a lot of researching before purchasing
I was torn between the FR 30 , FR 45s and the FR 245. I ultimately decided on the forerunner 45s; more features than 30 and way more budget friendly than the 245. I am so happy with my purchase. There are so many great features to it! I especially love Garmin coach (super motivating) and the body battery (feels very accurate).

Great Warch!

This watch is exactly what I have been looking for. More than a basic step counter, but less than a full-phone-on-your-wrist type of watch. I love the GPS feature for runs and hikes. I love that it looks like a watch and isn’t too bulky on my wrist. The band fits better than other watches I have had as well.

Great for runners, not for overall fitness

I returned this product because it seemed to me to be geared toward cardio-specific workouts, which I think it is GREAT for. If you run/bike/swim for the majority of your workouts, this is a superb item for you (except that Garmin needs to not make everything geared at women pink... come on, guys). You can just hit a button and go. The interface is relatively user friendly, if you're familiar with technology (I would not consider giving any Garmin products I've tested to my grandmother), and I think the look is very athletic-chic, without being clunky.
My fitness interests are more aimed at strength training, jogging, meditation, yoga, hiking, and overall wellness, which are better matched with the Vivoactive 4S, in my opinion. The Forerunner 45S doesn't have a good way of tracking strength training/yoga workouts besides the time it took.

Wanted to love it

Overall I would say this watch is not worth the money. Not only is it super basic, which I knew and was ok with going in, but it doesn’t actually even work a lot of the time and isn’t intuitive so it’s difficult to solve the constant problems I’ve run into with it.
