Starting with the pros, this unit is very powerful. In a single pulse the ingredients were already mixed. Leave it running and you are sure to get a well blended smoothie. We're all looking for something that will mix up a good smoothie and the Nutri Blender Pro does just that. Plus, I like the large 24 oz cups and the lids that come with them.
But the sound... I was looking for a unit to make smoothies at work, so it was important that I got something on the quiet side, and this is NOT it. This unit is LOUD. After a single pulse trying it at work I immediately had to stop as it sounded like a construction site. I brought it home to use yet it blends at such a high volume I can't possibly use it in the morning if my partner is sleeping. I take it into the bathroom and drape a towel over it! Even if you want to use it while hosting a party, this unit will drown out your guests nearby. It's not exactly a "fun" blended drink maker if it sounds like a jet is taking off from the kitchen. I am not exaggerating.
Lastly, the unit uses suction cups on the bottom that are clearly not meant to be removable. I tugged at one and it felt pretty fixed (maybe I have to read the specs again). I want a blender that I can stow away in a cabinet and not have out as a kitchen counter fixture. It is annoying to pull the base up every time and I have to store it upside down so I can pull it out quickly.
Overall, this unit is "clunky" and just too loud for comfort. I am pretty sure I am going to return this and keep researching quieter blenders.
I bought this as a birthday gift for my daughter. She was thrilled with it. She's able to make her smoothies as she puts it "Her Way"'. This was a good purchase.
Purchased a month ago; has seen daily use. The good: makes great smoothies, even with ice. Materials appear to be sturdy and should last a long time. Easy to use and to clean. Relatively compact. Auto settings are very convenient and helpful. The bad: It is insanely loud! Louder than my hammer-drill on concrete. Seriously. I have to put on earplugs and my pets run as fast and as far as they can when they see me prepping a smoothie. I get it that a powerful motor = more noise, but sound insulation/absorption should have been part of the design. If not for the noise factor, I'd think this was perfect for me. Unfortunately, I'll be considering alternatives.
I love this blender when it works like I thought it would, but it’s disappointing in several ways. Probably the most disappointing aspect is that the cups are undersized for how far the blades have to go into the cup when they are screwed on. From what I have read in a lot of other reviews, the 32oz cups give enough head room to get all your frozen fruit, and liquid in the cup with still plenty of room not to have to cram the blades in. Often what I’m experiencing is frozen fruit that stays stuck in the “top” of the cup after turning it over to put onto the blender base. The motor also smells hot every time I use it and it is seems to be getting louder and louder with each use as if something is coming apart inside.
