Design flaw and motor failure

Motor starting giving up and grinding itself after just about 1.5 years of once a day use for a smoothie. I took very good care of this product and followed everything I was supposed to for care. Nothing fancy or crazy ever blended besides protein powder, a few ice cubes, water, spinach, and about 50 grams of frozen berries. It just didn't hold up as advertised. Not worth the hype.
Also, not able to fully clean the lid gasket rubber seals. They get absolutely moldy and grimy and previous conversation with Shark Ninja stated that those aren't supposed to come out....well to my horror I finally pulled it out after far too long and found nothing but mold. Full design flaw.

This is a powerful blender and crushes vegetables and root ginger very well. The footprint is larger than expected on the counter but I rather have the power . It looks nice in the stainless steel.

Disappointed — Stopped Working After Only 4 Uses

Very disappointed with this blender. I only used it four times before the blade got stuck. When I tried to turn it on again, the motor burned out. For a product at this price, I expected much better quality and durability. I would not recommend it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The SMELL!

Bought this 2 months ago and quickly rinsed and cleaned blades and base immediately after every use. The gasket quickly started to smell and was VERY difficult to remove and clean. Because it is located close to the blades. I’ve nearly stabbed myself multiple times trying to remove the gasket. I even bought replacement gaskets to rid the smell and two different tools to remove them. The new gaskets only need a tiny bit of fluid underneath, and you’ve got a smelly gasket the next day, even with immediate proper washing. I smell spoiled milk every time I take a sip out of the smoothie cup. For someone who makes smoothies daily as a quick breakfast, this design flaw makes this a smelly waste of time and money.

Works like it should but made for man hands

I bought this Ninja blender for my teenage sons to replace our old Ninja blender. Although this whizzes through ice and frozen fruit like a champ, the cups are so wide that it’s really hard for me to hold and twist. I don’t personally use it to make smoothies, but I am the one who has to wash the cups and twisting off the lids of these is very difficult because they’re so wide. I don’t consider my hands to be tiny and delicate, but I struggle every time. My boys don’t seem to mind the width of the cups, but I think it would be difficult to hold compared to the older ninja blender cups, which were more narrow. It would’ve also been nice if this updated model could still be used with the previous model’s cups, but they can’t because they’ve changed the width.

Great blender but Hand Wash ONLY!!!!

This blender and blade will last a lifetime if you hand wash it but if you put the cups in the dishwasher the heat will shrink the plastic and your blades won’t screw on right anymore. It’s very easy to hand wash though so i find it’s only a mild inconvenience. If you find yourself not being able to screw on the lids after the dishwasher, don’t try and force them because the cups will start shedding plastics pieces and it could crack the blade. The cups just need to be replaced. The blade and blender all still work fine!
