Because of lidar navigation decided to try the Roborock robot. This is a great robot vacuum with tons of great features.
This robot can pull dog hair from carpets with zero damage to the carpet and can easily move over thresholds. And it can automatically collect dust, which is very convenient, I only need to change the dust bag regularly.
This really is the perfect robot vacuum. I did a lot of research on the options available and had 3 robots complete the test, and the Roborock Q5+ really outperformed any other robot I've seen. If you are looking for a really smart robot to basically automate your daily house cleaning - look no further!

Still have some problems

This is a great robotic vacuum and a wonderful shopping experience. The only problem is that the dock won’t stop cleaning the dirt from the robot automatically when the dustbin is full.

A good helper.

I’ve been using the Q5+ for a couple of months. Its auto-emptying feature is super fantastic. You don’t need to empty the small bin every time. Also, the dustbag is really good for those who is allergic to some bacteria or powders. You just need to lift the dustbag. Then, the opening will be closed. Throw it to the dustbin. That’s it. What’s more, you can connect it to the Alexa. Say ‘Alexa, ask the Q5 to clean your living room’, the robot will follow your voice command to do its cleaning. Intelligent, is it? I am mostly satisfied with its performance. It relieves you from doing chores. But one thing I noted is that the robot can not clean the black rug. I buy an area rug. It is not a high pile rug. The robot couldn’t climb on it. It tries to approach the fringes, but just doesn’t go the rug. I don’t know why. Anyone knows?

I've upgraded from my shark vacuum. The battery finally gave up in the shark robot vac. The roborock was significantly more expensive and I love it. through some sort of black magic, it methodically cleans almost every inch of my place. and when it sees some debris, it will actually turn and sweep it up. the app is also pretty impressive. it auto-maps my house and I can make vitual walls.
My shark vacuum would clean radomly and it may eventually get everything, but this roborock cleans the edges, then goes up and down to clean all the areas.
Also, what's impressive is how it navigates under my chairs. My old vac could not do that very well.

Side Brush Woes

I purchased the Roborock Q5+ a couple of years ago. It has done a very good job of cleaning as I have two dogs that shed a lot. I run the vac daily and it really helps keep the hair under control. However lately I have been having an issue with the side brushes. I don't remember what the shape of the brushes were that originally came with the vac but the brushes now have 5 arms and are shaped like a gull wing. Well this shape seems to be an issue. The vac now catches on every rug edge we have in the house. I watched it in action and have verified that the side brush is definitely the issue I can see it catch on the edge of the rug and the machine actually lifts one side off the floor as it tries to roll the edge of the rug. Typically I will get up in the morning with the vac stalled with an error that it is trapped and needs to be moved to a clear location. I don't know why this has begun to happen after using it seamlessly for such a long time. At any rate the shape of the side brush is creating a significant issue for me. I also have a S4 Roborock so I used one of its side brushes and it seems to work just fine with that brush but that brush is not designed for the Q5. Has there been a change in the shape of the side brush in the past 2 +/- years that is causing this problem. Other than this current issue which is very frustrating I like both the vacs that I own and think they do a real good job.
