dy. Large burner. Heats up slow but runs pretty hot and stay hot for a long time, probably bc it’s cast iron. It will boil water on “1”. The cord is typical length for a small appliance. Haven’t had it very long so not sure how it performs in the long run.
I bought the burner to use while our kitchen was being remodeled. It worked fine and made cooking easy. Then after a couple weeks the dial would not go right on. Took many tries to get it to turn on. Now after only using it for a little over a month it takes way too long to get it to turn on. I hope to return it and get a refund. It should work longer than a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have begun making candles at home for our own personal use. This unit is well made, with a solid enclosed sealed burner (very easy to clean), and easily reaches and holds all the temperatures I need. Controls are simple and intuitive. A great product- far better than the competition.
We bought this for our camper. We always cook outside but do not have an outdoor kitchen. We love it. Set it on my prep table next to our black stone and it keeps my sauces warm or cooks our oatmeal with out having to run in and out of the camper. Takes up very little storage space
