The burner sis sufficient enough to boil water, but as far as the lower settings it overheats. I have had many things boil over on the lower number settings.. The cast iron plate gets red too which I think is another malfunction. These burners do not last that long.

this product is excellent...with one caveat.....I am on my third one in three years...without overuse, without any rough or tumble, it dies after a year of simple weekly use.nnnBuilt in obsolescence?? Really!!!

We bought this for our camper. We always cook outside but do not have an outdoor kitchen. We love it. Set it on my prep table next to our black stone and it keeps my sauces warm or cooks our oatmeal with out having to run in and out of the camper. Takes up very little storage space

I bought the burner to use while our kitchen was being remodeled. It worked fine and made cooking easy. Then after a couple weeks the dial would not go right on. Took many tries to get it to turn on. Now after only using it for a little over a month it takes way too long to get it to turn on. I hope to return it and get a refund. It should work longer than a month.

I needed a heating source to cook pop corn, and a single burner seemed to be a good choice. I don't like air popped, too tasteles for me. The regular poppers have gone to light bulbs, too slow. So I bought a pop corn pan I love. New glass cook top and everything about my pan is a no-no. Now for the review, it seems to be pretty good. Takes FOREVER to heat to the highest heat {20 minutes to cook popcorn}, so if you wanted this for anything besides popcorn I think it would be a great choice for me not so much

I bought this unit as a replacement for the Broil King CSR3TB which had an electric wire beak. I normally cook on a hot plate. However the cast iron heating unit was not responsive. It took too long to heat to the desired temperature and wouldn’t cool down quickly so the pot continued to cook
