Bought this burner to use on our deck to cook some of our soups and vegetables that tend to leave lingering odor in our apartment. It works great and accomplishes my goal. It certainly provides enough heat - my one wish is that the lower range was not as hot so I could do a low simmer of my soups.
I use this outdoors especially when I don’t want to have lingering cooking odors after sautéing yummy, but stinky, things like onions & garlic. It’s also great, indoors, when I need an extra burner. My only wish is that it would heat up a cast iron pan as hot & as well as my regular cook-top gas burner does. Otherwise, I couldn’t be more pleased.
It really boils water quickly, and the control knob adjusts for slower cooking very well. It has a very solid cast iron construction and just feels like a quality made product. Other brands I looked at were very light and cheap. I would be afraid of using most of them. Good job on a great product.
Reliable for a long time. Only needed to replace my previous Cuisinart burner because I melted the plug by getting it against my toaster oven. I always unplug when not in use.
My apartment stove melted my expensive faber pans. I just love the countertop single burner. It heats up and then I turn it down to the temp. that I need and place my new replacement pan on it. No problems. I should have ordered the double burner so I can use a small sauce pan.
