So we lost gas service in my apartment building and restoration is slated to be months to a year. I immediately went out and bought this wonderful hot plate. It is efficient, simple to use, and I don’t know what I would do without it! The unit my landlord provided doesn’t even come close to producing an end product, in other words prepared foods, as does my Cuisinart.

This burner works great for my needs. It allows me to cook on my back patio to eliminate cooking odors in my kitchen when I'm making foods that have lingering odors. It takes a little while to get to temp but once it does it's consistent. It's easy to clean and store. I wish Cuisinart would make one with a larger "plate". This one has a 7 1/2" heating surface. A 9" surface would be awesome for my larger pans.

I bought this product a month ago, and I am love it. It makes a lot of cooking much easier with even more control than I have when I use my electric range. Ideal for simmering large pots of minestrone or your favorite soup. The Cuisinart burner definitely handles the challenge of my 23-lb. enameled cast iron Dutch oven and is perfect for braising short ribs or a large pork shoulder roast.Just pop it in the oven to roast then. Recently I made Korean style spare ribs using my Cuisinart burner, and finished them in the oven. OMG, so delicious!

I'm currently renovating my kitchen and needed a portable cooking burner. I purchased one locally and returned it immediately bc it smelled like burning plastic when I plugged it up. I researched online reviews and went with Cuisinart bc it's a brand I know and trust. At first I was hesitant to pay the difference but " You get what you pay for " is a true statement. This burner heats up fast and is made well, looking forward to years of use. I plan to use it outdoors when I'm cooking seafood or for food smells I don't want lingering in the house. Great buy!
