Not what they used to be

The defender just isn’t what it used to be. The top plastic piece is just too thin and 2 of mine have cracked and broke. Other than that it is still very protective if you’re not too rough on phones.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazed after saving my new phone

I run heavy equipment for a living and the other day I dropped my phone from 6 feet face down. Immediately after it hit the ground a fully loaded 120,000 lb tractor and trailer ran right over it (6 axles total). I had this defender series case on it as well as a glass screen protector and after peeling off the shattered screen protector, I looked all over my phone front and back and I couldn’t believe that there was no cosmetic or functional damage to my phone! Otter box, thank you for saving me a bunch of money and protecting my phone!

My phone was run over by MANY cars - no damage!!!!

I have always used Otterbox cases because I drop my phone so much. But yesterday was the big test -- I put my phone on the roof of my car & forgot as I drove off. The phone fell off in the street without my knowledge, and was apparently run over by many cars over 20+ minutes in a busy street. A few hours later I got the phone back and it works fine! The case absorbed all the damage (you could see all the scratches and the plastic was a bit flattened). Totally worth the $$.

I work in the asphalt industry and have to replace this every other month. Its now discontinued. I like the case and dont blame the company i have to replace it but i blame them for discontinuing it.

Not worth the price.

My screen cracked from a short fall. Difficult to change the silent riner switch and the charging port is bulky.

Literally the best purchase I've made

This case did a AMAZING job, normally i think im a average phone damager but today i left my phone on the top of my car and then realized when it fell off while i was going 45mph, i was thinking it broke for sure, but the phone had NO DAMAGE and minimal case damage, just a few chips and a lot of road burn

dissapointed, quality has signifigantly decreased

I bought this case for my iPhone 12 Pro about a week ago, I had one on my previous iPhone 11 Pro that I absolutely loved. I was expecting to get the same quality and protection with the one for my new phone but I was incredibly disappointed to see that there is no longer a raised edge and the case is overall thinner and just feels cheaper and less rugged. this is very aggravating to me because I actually use my phone in harsh environments and that's why I have had an otterbox on every phone I have ever owned. if I wanted a slim pretty case then I wouldn't have bought a defender series. but I bought the "rugged" case that for some reason is being streamlined and made cheaper. I understand the cost of materials goes up and I get that you need to make money but cutting corners and making a cheap lower quality case is going to ruin your niche in the phone case market. like I don't care what it cost I just want a rugged quality phone case that feels good in my hand, that I can actually hold and actually protect my device. I would love to have a conversation with someone who designs these cases because I would love to give some conductive criticisms. the thing that sparked me to write this review is I dropped my phone on the side and it hit a little lip of a rolling shop chair and it shattered the screen protector. (an alpha glass screen protector) and it is entirely due to the lack of edge protection (because on the sides of the case the lip on the edge of the screen is flush with the screen, leaving it susceptible to edge damage, why did you mess with a good thing. I want a rugged case, not a sleek or low-profile case. i want it big and clunky because than it gives the protection that it needs
