I am very satisfied with this machine. It works so good. I also like the idea of the bobbin on top where I can see it easily.

We bought two of these machines 8/3/13 as gifts from HSN. One has had the LED light fail. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a replacement LED, by phone, email, and web for over 4 months. Finally someone found the 'part #' BUT it's not available. WHAT???? The machine is not 2 years old!!1

Not Great

I purposely purchased a Singer and went to a Heavy Duty since I sew denim. From the first this machine has been a big disappointment. The easy threader broke, and I bought a new one. Then the zipper foot won't allow me to sew on both sides, just one or needle hits the foot. Moving needle position doesn't work. The Singer warrenty providers are over an hour of travel due to the very large city I live in. Not worth it. So, I won't buy Singer again, unless I go with a very high end machine. These less costly products are not worth the price. I've paid more in repairs than the machine cost.

Singer 4423 Heavy Duty

I unpacked the 4423, set it up and went right to work. The sewing is very precise, easy to thread, load the bobbin. I have other machines that are all computerized, this machine give you the sewer the ability of manually controlling all aspects of the machine. I have really enjoyed sitting and learning all the different stitches, needle positions, that this machine can do. I was looking for a non-computerized machine and this really has lived up to what it says it can do. I put 12 layers of heavy denim together and used a denim needle with yellow jean thread and it just breezed right through it no problem. I also used a VERY delicate fabric and the tenderness and ease and stitching was just as perfect as the heavy material. I really give this machine 5 stars because it is truly and fun and well built and accurate machine.

This machine replaced a Koyo I had for 30 years. I couldn't be happier with my new Singer machine. I've been able to use most of the features, even the buttonhole maker. I really like the fact that it's heavy duty since I do sew denim projects.

Love It!

I've had this sewing machine for about a year now and love it. It's so easy to sew button holes, and buttons with. I used it to sew seatbelts for a project. I did have an issue with the thread breaking, but then realized that I had missed one of the threading points. Once I had the thread on properly, there were no more issues. This sewing machine is compact, so you can just pack it up and take it with you. I've used most every feature and have used everything from heavy duty to light weight thread, and am learning how to set the tension for each type. I'm still learning what all the sewing patterns do, I wish they would have done more of a description for those in the users manual.
