The Singer Heavy Duty machine lives up to it's name! I've made several hundred masks for First Responders during this COVID crisis using an old sewing machine. How great to have this one that sews over the pleats in the mask without missing a stitch. No more fighting to get the fabric to go thru. Love it. Don't love the small light focused directly on the needle. Don't like the placement or the feel of the reverse switch, but I will get used to that.

Making clothes and face masks I didn't t think I would like The top loading bobbin but now have changed my mind because I can see when bobbin is getting low on thread. The only thing I don't t like is the cord is too short-about another foot in length would be better.

My daughter had been using the same Singer machine I used to make some of her baby clothes. It was at least 30 years old. It worked but had seen better days. Since my daughter was making masks for anyone who needed them, I decided it was time to invest in something more reliable. Singer was reliable before so I did my research and this model seemed like the heavy duty we were looking for. So far, my daughter made many more masks and pieced a quilt she had started a decade ago. Not one problem! It's a work horse! So happy with our purchase!
