I am an experienced sewer but usually only create basic projects. This machine exceeded my expectations. First, it's SO light weight compared to my old machine. It's also very quiet compared to my old machine. It has all the features I'm looking for and is super easy and simple to use. My first project was making masks. This machine whipped through the heavy, multiple layers of fabric. What a delight to use. Next project is a t-shirt quilt for my daughter to take to college...as soon as supplies become more plentiful

This is an amazing starting machine. My dad does upholstery and has a heavy duty machine that was always to fast and strong for my liking. During quarantine I decided to start learning to sew and I LOVE this machine. It is so easy to use, and the videos on the site help you learn. 10/10 would by again.

I use it for general sewing needs. Right now I'm making masks. The take up lever loses the thread a lot. I have to look Everytime I start a run. I have to pull a longer than normal amount of thread past the foot or it will come out of the needle. I hate to say it but with those to issues it's enough to drive me batty. I can't wait to get my older singer sewing machine fixed.

I really love this machine for being a beginner. Most of the features are easy to use. I did find the automatic threader to be quite difficult to use, but I am sure with time I will get better at it. The machine is heavy and is a great size to store away. I love that you can find video step by step information on the SINGER website to help with using the machine.
