I am brand new to sewing, and this machine was not only exceptionally forgiving, but it was also a breeze to use. I am so happy I bought this model, it is solid and I can see having it for a long time.
I Love that it sew's so easily, not too noisy and that the thread doesn't break so easily, like the one my friend gave me as a gift, so far I haven't found anything wrong with it. I just Love it, I'm happy with it, ty, it was worth buying it❤
Made masks for my family. Made chair-covers, table cloths napkins, this machine is mine, sorry grandkids, not going to give this one away lol. Thank You Singer you never let me down in 45 years.
Bought this machine hoping it was going to work on denim quilts. I have yet to try the quilts and have been making masks instead. Can't get it to go across simple cotton seams without stopping. Also the bobbin isn't easy to get in and out. If your thread breaks off in the area between the top and the needle you can't get it out easily. Not a user friendly machine. I don't recommend this machine to anyone.
I've been using it to sew masks for donation. It's a workhorse of a machine that does very well sewing over multiple layers of fabric. e.g., the dreaded multi-layer pleat from the Deaconess or Kaiser Permanente patterns, or even when sewing layers of tinfoil into the top front french seam of a face mask. The set of stitches are basic, but really all you need when what you want is no fuss machine. Also, the needle threading tool works like magic.
I have 3 other machines all very expensive. This one is simple and for straight up sewing this is the best. Just open the box, plug it in and sew!! It is well made and heavy duty. Snap on presser feet that are inexpensive work great. Very happy with it is machine!!
This is a great sewing machine at a fantastic price!!! I had one like it and wore it out, so was thrilled that I could get the same exact machine only now new. This is an easy to use machine that holds up well to a lot of sewing!
