[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow I love this Brother sewing machine It is so lightweight and easy to To store. I love the fact you can do any kind of stitch you need to do with this machine straight zigzag buttonholes embroider names on items And you don't have to go out and find somebody to embroider for you which we know Can be pretty costly. The brother sewing machine is very easy to use It is very lightweight and I enjoy using it already did a couple projects and they came out fabulous
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. The Brother XR9550 is pretty impressive! It's a great quality machine that has multiple awesome features and accessories! The machine is very simple to set up and begin using. It has a very detailed operation manual and a DVD as well that's very helpful and useful. I think this machine is perfect for all kinds of sewers from beginner to expert. It's very easy to thread the machine which is nice. The possibilities are really endless as this machine has 165 built-in stitches such as a straight stitch, decorative, satin, quilting, buttonhole, character and more! It's super easy to use the LCD screen and select your stitch, length, and width. I love the fact that my model included a quilting foot in addition to the 7 already included! I really like the wide table and cute little accessories compartment! It also has a hard cover to protect the machine when not in use so that's nice. Sewing with this machine feels effortless and smooth, and I love that I can sew at various speeds too which makes it easy for my teens learning to sew!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This has to be the worst machine doesn’t handle the slytist fabric thickness makes loud noise while sewing and thread bunches up when back stitch button is used. I have only had it for 2 months but so disappointed.

Ok but not so good for quilting.

Sews fine for thin layers of material. But always jams when quilting and breaks needles. Have to constantly clean to keep it running normal. Have had to replace bobbin assembly twice already. Also, the horizontal thread dispenser on top is terrible. Thread will not flow smoothly off of spool if there are any slight imperfections in the plastic spool.

Hard to change out needles and feet .. enough space. Need super tiny hands. I have very small hands and this machine has a super short needle area. I do not like the bobbin area where that gray thin plastic is...way to thin. On the plus side this machine is sewing very well. It's easy to do free motion motion quilting. Just stick to very small quilts such a small crib size and should have any issues.

Disappointed in the cover for the machine.

The machine itself is great. The reason for only giving it 2 stars is the cover. I took the Styrofoam out of the cover because at no point in the directions did it say that the styrofoam stays in the lid. If I would have read the reviews before I bought the Brother XR9550 I would not have got the machine. Now I have a top that dont't fit. Very disappointed!!

Great machine but I'm angry

Got this machine for my fiance for Christmas so she can finish making her wedding dress. We decided to do Christmas early, the machine is nice and the accessories are amazing. The reason I'm giving a 2 star is no where in the box full of Styrofoam would i assume the inside of the "case" need to have the Styrofoam left in. That is extremely cheap and disappointing for a product that will probably be used for years

Love my brother

But I have had nothing but difficulty with my bobbin/casing since I started using my new machine. It has broken needles, punctured plastic and even broken a bobbin casing in half. My previous machine was a brother and I was expecting great things, but I have to say that I’m disappointed even though I keep trying and making sure I’ve followed directions from the manual just thinking I’ve done something wrong.
