Very happy with this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife had an older Brother sewing machine that her grandma gave her many years ago that she loves, but she has now tried this one and loves it. There are a far greater number of stitch options with this one, and the digital display is very helpful. Beyond that, it's basically a well made sewing machine that does what a sewing machine is supposed to do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product and I am so happy that I did, this Brother XR9550, is great, it is so easy to use and has a good instruction dvd and booklet that comes with it, which is great for sewing newbies, it explains all you need to know to get started on your sewing journey. A lot of great accessories come with it, like bobbins and needles and so much more, it also comes with a slide on or off extension table, that makes it so easy to sew with, and gives the garment more stability, and it comes with the foot pedal ,The Brother XR9550, also has a easy to read digital display, and a display of the different stitches you can use on the front, which is very handy. I also love the cover for the machine, which makes it so easy to carry and put away.
It's honestly a high quality, wonderful sewing machine, it's so easy to use. I would recommend the Brother XR9550, to anyone who wants to start sewing or someone who has been sewing for years, you won't go wrong with Brother.

Initially intimidating, but very happy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Brother sewing machine for free in exchange for my honest review. I was very intimidated by this machine when I first received this machine. I immediately went and found a YouTube video from brother to do a walk through because I’m not a fan owners manuals. My most favorite feature about this machine is using the button in place of the foot pedal, because I’m not good about consistently pressing the foot pedal. I also like the bobbin being up on the surface vs on the side. It allows me to see how much thread remains. The display informs you what foot to use for the many stitching choices. This machine has really re-inspired my love of sewing! Don’t let the bells and whistles intimidate you! Even a beginner will be able to use this machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great for a Hobby

Im a beginner at quilting, so any machine that is simple and easy to use is great. This machine is fantastic. There is a nice amount of work space on the machine. The foot stitching does not pull and bunch of the fabric. And the setting options; take the time to play and have fun with new designs !

The Best out There!!!

As an experienced sewer, I can proudly say that this sewing machine is one of the best ones on the market. The Brother XR9550 Computerized Sewing Machine is easy to use and includes 165 built in stitches. The amount of features incorporated is unbelievable. So far I have just played around with it, but can’t wait to dive further in. I have made a few masks so far, but would love to make more to give to homeless shelters and people in need of them. The operation panel is easy to use, there is a large LCD screen, and the instructions are easy to read. The machine is capable of numerous possibilities and I’ve only explored a few of them. I am incredibly excited and honored to use this sewing machine. My quarantine hobby has now begun. I am determined to make some quilts next!

I am very happy with my machine, though I do wish the table was the same size as my old one. And the needle threader is not as easy as on my old Brothers. But I love the speed control, and the bobbin threader

Quilting with templates

Don't get me wrong, I love my Brother XR9550, but you can't use templates to put quilting patterns on your quilt. I tried, even bought a special low shank foot for it and a box of dabline templates to use. The needle hit the foot and locked up the machine (scared I had torn up my new machine), gave up on idea. So disappointed, can't afford another machine.

Its a nice machine. I wish when the power is turned on the needle would be in the center position. Also, I wish the machine would remember and start in the last setting used before the power is turned off.
