I only bought the sewing machine to help out front line workers, one being myself, to make masks. I haven't sewed in about 25 years, But a saw a need. It has been the most rewarding purchase in a long time. I'm not the best sewer, so this was perfect for my needs. I even started making surgical caps. Thank you for getting it to me so fast.

Good Machine, but needs some design alterations

I bought this machine as my 80 year old pre-WWII was in the shop during Covid. I like this machine over all, but the power pedal is way too light and moves around on the floor unless I put a brick behind it. It also takes some getting used to as it must be pressed in the middle to make it run and it is difficult to regulate the sewing speed. I imagine this will become easier as I sew more on it. I find that, for me, the light is in the wrong place and does not illuminate to the right of the needle very well. The inch/centimeter markings are in the back of the needle instead of in front of it where it would be more useful for keeping cloth in line. I will be adding markings on the metal plate in front of the bobbin to help line up fabrics .In the US, it would be beneficial to have the inch markings, rather than the centimeter markings, closer to the user. Other than that, it is a good machine and runs well, so far. I like the large variety of easy automatic stitches and the buttonhole option. I look forward to exploring all the available features in the near future. My previous machine had a 20 year guarantee and has lasted 80+ years doing basic sewing and fancier sewing with its accessories, but this one has only a 90 day guarantee. I hope it lasts much longer than that. My mon's Singer lasted 50 years., but it was all metal. I would recommend this as a reasonably priced machine for all but the most experienced sewers who may need even more sewing options..
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Is My Second New Machine In 2 Weeks. Both Machines Had Non Working Parts, Missing Accessories & 2nd Machine Was Clearly Used Before. I Have Trusted & Owned Singers My Whole Life. My Experience Was Bad & Can Only Imagine How Many Others Were Awful Also. It’s Like They Are Throwing Machines Together For This Pandemic & Not Caring About Quality Anymore...Just Quantity.

We’re so sorry that the Heavy Duty 4452 sewing machine did not meet your expectations. Please help us to improve by providing more information on your experience by emailing our Customer Care team at https://www.singer.com/Contact-Us.
I love this sewing machine. It is so easy to thread with the automatic threading feature. The presser foot doesn’t slid on my floor as I sew like the presser foot on my old machine did. The stitches are nice and even and easy to adjust. I learned to sew on a Singer sewing machine at my Grandmother’s side many years ago and I look forward to many new sewing projects with my new machine. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Heavy Duty 4452 sewing machine.
Very helpful to view online tutorials. I’ve been sewing for years and picked up a few tips. Wish they provided a paper manual with the machine (you can print one yourself from the website). Need a little more Info on specifications, ie “class”of bobbin so I can purchase more and instructions for changing presser feet.
I finally decided to purchase a new machine after my other 27-year-old Singer started to slow down. What a big difference. This one seems to have a lot more horsepower and some improved features. It's slightly smaller than my older machine (which I like) and is quieter. I should mention the speed. It is three times faster than my other machine -- which makes sewing so efficient. For an intermediate level seamstress like me, this machine is perfect!
