I wear sewing machines out so this is early days but it is sturdy and makes a firm stitch. It attacks everything I have offered from fine fabrics to heavy ones. Think this is going to be a winner. Not too many buttons so I need to take classes but lots of choices of stitches. This machine may outlive me. Very pleased.

I like my machine so far. The video tutorials are great. I have a Singer from the 80’s that still works but wanted a little more updated machine. I like the extra features on this one and was pleasantly surprised at all the accessories that came with it. I was told by a sewing shop that the new Singer machines are terrible. But so far mine is fine.

Honestly, I have had little time to dedicate myself to sewing, but what little I have been able to sew with the Singer 4452 machine seemed easy to use, I will also have to get used to the position of the coil, it has enough points that I will use in future projects, the Accessories seem weak, delicate, (maybe because I was used to using stronger ones with my previous machine) I hope they are as good or better than my previous accessories. In summary I think I made a good choice.

Great machine for a beginner

This is my first ever sewing machine and I haven't sewn since middle school (20 years ago). I found it super easy to use, handles thick fabric/many layers with ease and can stitch super quickly. I haven't encountered any problems in the 8 months I've had the machine. I just wish the foot pedal was more responsive.

This machine never worked properly. Bobbin thread bunched up from the beginning. Also, needle threader never worked. Returned machine.

Love the machine, but wish the plastic parts felt more durable. I bought this to replace my 30 year old singer which is not "heavy duty", but actually has more weight to it and feels more substantial. Agree with another persons comment that I read that the work light could be warmer/brighter, and that the "reverse" is in an awkward place. Was much more user friendly on the lower right front where my thumb could use it. Also, not sure that the straight stitch option on the wheel is lined up properly inside. the needle is not centered unless I keep the knob setting a bit off center.

My first portable sewing machine was Elna that gave me decades of satisfactory services until it needed a major repair. For the same price of repair work, I bought a Brother machine, and for several decades replaced two of them. I switched to Singer hoping it would be more durable. It is definitely a faster and stronger machine but needs time to prove how long it could last. In the short time of using it, the most disturbing point is that the LED light is really very dim. I have to need an additional table light to perform my work. All Brother machines have a convenient needle position button that raise and lower the needle. This machine lacks this feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
