I have an iPhone X that is over two years old and it looks and perform like it’s brand new out of the box because of my Defender Otter Box case. A great investment!
The one phone I didn’t use an OtterBox on, broke. I dropped it and the screen SHATTERED! Never again will I own a phone and NOT have an OtterBox on it!
Not only did it take close to a month to get here... IT WAS THE WRONG ONE!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Phone definitely feels protected and sturdy, colour nice. Not easy to flip open to charge or turn sound on and off, but guess that’s part of protection.
I purchased this a few weeks ago for my wife's iPhone X. At first I bought her a different case_will not mention brand here :( _which she dropped within 3 days and cracked the screen protector, arrrggg! Got another screen protector and put this case around it. So far so good (fingers crossed).
