I’ve been using the OtterBox defender since I owned my iPhone 6. To me, this is the strongest most robust drop proof case around. When I get a new phone I always open it on my desk and immediately put into an OtterBox defender. At one time I did use another brand of case, and dropped my phone in the middle of Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. The case broke and my phone got dinged and scratched. Since I starter using the defender, I can recall that I’ve really dropped my phone at least 4 to 5 times, I’m pretty careful. The case remained intact. Aside from a few scuffs on the rubber. No problem and no other damage. Now I’m comfortable that if I drop my phone it will survive unscathed. I love the product. Keep up the good work OtterBox.

I thought I was ordering a new version of the life-proof, but did not know there wasn't a enclosed front making it waterproof as well. For what it is, it is ok, but not what I wanted or needed.

Apologies for the confusion prior to purchase, but the Defender Series case was definitely not engineered as a fully enclosed waterproof solution. Sounds like you're perhaps looking for the Frē Series, which will be available for your iPhone 14 Pro Max in the next several weeks.
