I bought this soon as I got my iPhone 12 Max. I always buy the Defender case for all my iPhones. Biggest issue is that it says it wirelessly charges, it does not with the MagSafe wireless charger for the iPhone 12. I got it to connect once moving it around to find the sweet spot. You could spend an hour trying to position it to get it to charge the phone, also there is no protection for the screen you have to now buy the screen protector separate when previous versions protected the screen. This case went from being the best hands down to the worse as its design did not evolve with the needs of the new iPhone 12. I’m surprised it can even claim on the packaging to be used for wireless charging. Previous versions of the Defender were so good you didn’t even need to buy phone insurance. This one is terrible, I’ve never minded the higher cost on older models because I knew what I was getting. This one is not worth the money. I’ve purchased the defender on two previous iPhone for reference.

We're sorry to hear that you're not loving your Commuter Series case! While that case is compatible with Qi charging pads, it is not designed for optimal functionality with MagSafe accessories. Keep in mind, this case will perform best with OtterBox branded wireless chargers. Ok I got this case and was all happy as I have have many otter box cases in the past. I went and put the case on my 12 or max and it’s made like a android case. What? Are you serious why have the sides curved? This is a waste of money!! Please fix this junk.

Between me and my wife this is the 8th iPhone I have purchased with an otterbox and each time the Defender series case has been more durable than the previous one with the last case outliving the phone. I can already tell this new case is even difficult to scratch.
Considering how much we drop our phones is tough to put a price on our piece of mind. We will not put a new phone in service until we have our Otterbox ready to use.

Great Case - But Screen Protection Costs $$$$

I have been using the Defender series since 2015 for all my phones. The latest one hlacks the bulkiness of the classic defender case but also lacks in protection. The slimmer case profile does not raise the cameras enough on the iPhone 12 pro max makes it more prone to damage when set flat on an uneven surface unlike the older Defender cases.
People like me dont care about the bulk but more about the rugged protectiveness. If I needed a slimmer case I'd go for the Commuter series or others. This purchase was a disappointment.
