Wireless charging not working. Works if I take off the rubber silicone and just have the plastic frames but the moment I put the rubber casing on the wireless charging does not work. The defender case on my previous XS Max worked fine. This one isn’t work on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Pretty disappointing. Please help!

Hi, Jesse!
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your Defender Series case! While that case is compatible with Qi charging, some chargers tend to work better than others, so you may find that a different charger suits you best. Keep in mind, our cases will work best alongside OtterBox charging options. If you run into any other issues with your case, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team here: https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/contact-us
Good case, I wish they kept the screen as they had on previous cases.

Not Compatible With MagSafe / Qi Charging!!!

Otterbox -- please stop advertising this as being compatible with MagSafe, IT IS NOT! I tried putting my phone in various positions for >15 minutes in several attempts. Does not work consistently. I need to take the rubber shell off, leaving the plastic skeleton case on, and then the Qi charging system works. I tried using this case with an Apple charger and a third party (Belkin).
I have had a similar Otterbox case in the past for a different iPhone model, and eventually the rubber flap for the lightning port fell off. I expect the same will happen with this Max Defender Series Pro case. So, I will be buying yet another Otterbox case...getting more money from me, Otterbox! Well done.
I would have given a 1-star review, except the case is well made and sturdy just like they are supposed to be.

Hi, Bobby!
We're sorry for any frustration with your Defender Series Pro case. Unfortunately, the MagSafe charger will not work with the Defender Series Pro. This case has been tested and confirmed to be compatible with Qi wireless technology. That said, not all platforms are made the same, and there are some other dynamics that can be a factor as well, such as the placement of the device, etc. Our OtterSpot Wireless Charging System will definitely work with the case, so that might be one option to consider moving forward.
Though our Defender Series Pro won't work with MagSafe accessories, we're offering a new Defender that is designed with MagSafe. Feel free to heck out the Defender Series Pro XT case with MagSafe on our website.
I've been on a every 2 yr cycle with iPhone upgrades. Always choosing the heaviest and biggest screens. This case feels the best of them all. With about 10 yrs experience w/ Defender you know what will hold up and what will have issues. The materials are quality and I can predict this case will last easily through 2 yrs to the next iPhone major cycle. I like the anti-microbial focus -- great job. This year the case design feels slimmer than the 2018 Defender -- which is very much appreciated. The components fit very well, and nicely accommodated the 3rd party protective screen. Assembly is easier than in 2018 -- it just fits better, and the locking mechanism is firm, but suitably smaller. The opening for the camera is perfect and nicely done. The belt clip is exactly what you have come to expect in the Defender case -- it just works, and no compromises. Overall I give the iPhone 12 Pro Max Defender Series Pro case a 10/10 score. 100% satisfied with its ruggedness while still being thinner than the standard Defender. Well done. If you are a Defender fan, you'll feel right at home with a purchase.
I’ve always utilized the defender with my job as a first responder. This new case is thinner but hasn’t sacrificed any of the strength!

Hate this case

The rubber does not fully stay secure in the case for very long. Had it for a month and the rubber part is extremely loose. For the amount of money I paid could at least have the rubber stay fully secure on the hard shell.

Hi spiritbay,
We're so sorry you're running into some technical difficulties with this Defender Pro Series case in terms of Qi Wireless charging.
This is strange to say the least because this case has been tested and confirmed to be compatible with Qi wireless technology. That said, not all platforms are made the same, and there are some other dynamics that can be a factor as well, such as the placement of the device, etc. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us at (855) 688-7269 and we'll always do our very best to help
Twice in all these years, I DIDNT buy an Otterbix Defender and wound up wasting my money on “cute, extra-durable” cases by other manufacturers that were not up to snuff. The Defender series is what I need. I am a super-busy realtor and my phone is literally my business life. I again bought a cute, trendy case from another vendor and it was a disaster. It was slippery, so I dropped it ALL the time. I’m always needing to prop my phone on all manner of surfaces...so that stupid, slippery case would slide and not be the helper that I need. I’m too busy and distracted to have to babysit a phone case. With the Defender, I know it’s grippy, not going to slide away, and it resists my many flubs. Love it!!!
