[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent to use while working out or running! The twist lock technology along with the water resistant technology really puts these earbuds in the upper echelon of earbuds at this price point. JBL has done it again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I accepted to sample this product because I am always looking for ear buds that can fit my needs. I need ear buds that will stay in my ear while I workout and are comfortable. These ear buds definitely meet my needs. I mainly use earbuds when I workout or have to take a phone call. I expected these earbuds to perform very well. I love the different sized ear pieces that it came with. I used earbuds for the very first time during my workout and they did not disappoint. I do tend to get a little sweaty during my workout but these stayed in place and did not slip or fall out. Sound quality was exceptional. I LOVE hearing the bass. I think my favorite feature is the ambient aware. I can easily tune in or tune out the world. I also love that they don’t take forever to charge and one charge (depending on your usage) can last a long time. For me I can charge them once every 2 weeks and that’s me using them 3 days a week during my workout sessions. I took a few phone calls and it sounded just as good as listening to music. The charging case is pretty compact and easy to carry in my purse. The earbuds definitely helped me focus when I in need to tune out. The only thing I didn’t like about them were the design of them. I didnt like the little loop thing but other thank that I think these earbuds are great for anyone but they are perfect for someone who is active. I really enjoyed these and I recommend giving these a try.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using these for both active and casual use, and I've very much enjoyed them for both the gym and around the house! Below are notes from my experience the past couple of weeks.
• Audio quality is quite good--I wrote this thinking the Endurance Race 2 were double the price! This is coming from someone whose humble headphone setup comes out to just over four digits.
• 10 band EQ is quite nice - if you have a significant boost set (≥3dB), turn your volume down before toggling the EQ!
• Very good staying power for running, even with my oily skin! Fantastic for intense work outs! With the minor pressure they have on the ear, I could wear these for hours and hours. For me, at least; my roommate was not really compatible with them, though he didn't try other tips or the jackets without the wings (check photo!). (He's also a little bit of a snob lol)
• The shape and shallow fit may challenge some ears in getting a perfect seal consistently; these do fit me better than some other TWS that have much longer insertion depth.
• Ambient aware mode (which is only slightly like other's "transparency mode") only helps by about 2-3 dB; it isn't noticeable unless media is playing at pretty low volume, such as 70-ish dB, at which point you can kind of hear through the seal anyway.
• Since I can't get a great seal sometimes, ANC isn't great until I put major pressure on them and my ear. I was able to test them in an airplane environment, where they're still usable if these will be the only thing you have, but not the best noise cancellation and/or noise isolation (or sound blocking) for the price.
And my biggest gripe... TalkThru. This is most like "transparency mode", but doesn't allow you to hear the media you're playing.
• TalkThru doesn't make much sense to me so far, only in that it lowers media volume by 95%; media is inaudible until the mode is changed. I guess it's so you don't have to take out the earphones, in which case, there is some convenience. Your dialogue will have to wait for you to open the app to make the change, though. This mode doesn't entirely negate the "talking with ears plugged" effect, unfortunately. There is no way to add TalkThru as a shortcut by tapping (like you can for ANC and Ambient Aware). IMPORTANT: Don't forget to turn it down before changing from this mode! Especially if you're like me and you kept turning up your volume while in TalkThru. It's very easy to forget about when you turn off TalkThru and then you have the full power of the JBLs blasting in your ear (unless you have the volume limiter set!).
Overall, I do quite like these, and use these almost every day, gym or otherwise. I would definitely use these alongside my other gym setup, which is a set of hifi IEMs and a Bluetooth headphone amp!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Noise cancellation works very well. I used Endurance Race 2 while mowing my lawn and was impressed with ability to still hear music. I have tried many headphones while doing yard work, although I like around ear type headphones the best, these are my new favorites. They are lightwweight and actually stay in my ears and sound great. Yay! Initial setup was real easy with my iPhone. Was listening in seconds. And IP68 too? It's the highest standard for water and dust resistance. Can't wait to use these on the water in my small boat. Satisfied and impressed. Yes, I recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using these earbuds while working out and listening to music while at work in the office. They're really comfortable for long use, and I like that they come with a rubber piece that touches your ear so it doesn't feel like hard plastic. The soft loop on the headphones fits perfectly in the ear and secures the earbuds. I didn't have any problems with them falling off. I also like that they have a noise-canceling feature, and it worked great in noisy places. Overall, these headphones do what they are intended for: outdoor activities or workouts. They're comfortable, have great noise cancellation, and the music quality is well-balanced with good bass. Great workout headphones or for office use on calls.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great set of headphones. I usually have trouble with these fitting in my ears but they fit perfect. Been using them at the gym for 3+ weeks and still haven't had to charge them once. Of course with same JBL sound quality you would expect from JBL.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm no stranger to earbuds and headphones. I have probably had 6 or 7 pairs in just the last year. My problem is finding ones that are comfortable to wear for hours on end. The JBL ones have usually been a good fit and quality and this endurance racer 2 is no different.
Unboxing you get two manuals, a charging cable, different size ear canal pieces, a case that also charges, and the ear buds. You will want to try all the different ear canal pieces and even mix and max sizes to find which ones are comfortable for you. I ended up with two different sizes as that's what was most comfortable for me.
Once you find what's comfortable, make sure to connect these to the JBL app. In the app you can update firmware, make EQ changes, change sports modes, and other options. If you do not have the app you will be missing out on some key features. Also in the app there is a relax mode, this mode allows you to play different environmental sounds, camp fire, running water, waves, etc. This was a nice surprise as I love having white noise when I sleep or just use the sounds to relax.
The twist and lock feature seems like it will be great for runners, hiking, etc. When I first put them in my ear, I had trouble with this feature and that was because the rubber that goes into the ear canal was too large. Once I found the correct ones for my ears, the lock in place felt pretty stable. I have yet to try them with any vigorous activity, but they seemed like they would stay in place.
Sound quality is very good and being able to adjust the EQ you can find something that works for you. I used these with my iPhone and laptop, even at low volume I could clearly hear everything I was listening to. The noise canceling worked very well and I could not hear anyone who was trying to talk to me even at lower volume. The talk through worked as well, but I still had to mute or pause what I was listening to, as I did have some trouble hearing them.
Overall, these are nice earbuds from JBL, the battery life seems good and the carrying case is small enough to place in your pant pocket. I would recommend these if you needed a good overall earbud that can work with an active lifestyle.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a longtime user of JBL headphones I was a little disappointed at these buds to start with. BUT I found that my usual mid sized rubber seals were to small. I changed out for the larger ones and immediately got the expected sound back. Not only that but these have an extra support ring that holds them in ear better and are very comfortable. I did notice that the tone (bass) of these is a little different and that I had to use the EQ settings, this brought it back to more like other JBL buds. Maybe as sports ones they are tuned this way for a reason. Anyway, with this change they sound amazing, that along with the comfort makes these my go to buds now ! I live by the coast so the Ip68 protection should come in handy at the beach (once it gets warmer)
