Let it rest according to the instructions and it never got cold from the moment I turned it on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just recently purchased this past week and am super happy with it! I do live on the 4th floor so I have had to drain it a few times as I am sure the humidity and the power of the cold ac counteracts with each other. It cools my 500 sq apartment with no issues! The noise isn’t bothersome at all no matter how how I have the fans on. Worth it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for master bedroom that barely gets air conditioning. It works good but we have plantation shutters so the shade has to stay open. Also our window is taller than the kit so we had to create something to close off the extra top. Bad part is it's pretty noisy which I totally get, but had to sleep
