Best Iron ever!

I've tried many brands, expensive and inexpensive. This simple iron, by far, does the best job. Even on linen shirts that I washed and left hanging for a few days.
There's nothing in the instructions about the different indicator light colors. As soon as I plug it in the light is GREEN. So that can't mean it's heated up to the temperature on the dial. Then there's a yellow light and sometimes a red one. The instructions don't say anything about the different colors and what they mean? This is used as a craft iron and I would really like to know when it's at the right temperature. Probably going to replace it with something else that I know when it's really hot.

Thank you for offering your feedback regarding your Black+Decker Classic Iron. I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations with the instructions and the indicator light. The indicator light will illuminate green while it is heating, and it will turn off once the temperature you’ve set it for has been reached. The iron also has an automatic shut off safety feature. Once the iron reaches the appropriate temperature, it will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity if left on its soleplate or tipped over on its side. If left vertically on its heel rest, it will shut off after 8 minutes. The flashing red light is an indication that the iron has turned off automatically, and moving the iron should cause the iron to begin heating again. Your iron has a two year warranty and if you ever need assistance with it, I am at your disposal. Have had about a year and only use it to iron fabric. Have been so careful to place on the floor on a hot pad so the cat can't knock it down. Used it yesterday, unplugged it and it started leaking water really bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this item for free for my opinion. I thought this was a great iron. Worked really well taking out wrinkles.
Loved this iron for the first month but than it stopped steaming now the water won't stop leaking when I iron. It dripples out every other min. Even when there is barely any water. Not too happy.

I bought a new one a few years ago and used it sparingly. Now it doesn't heat up properly and shuts itself off before getting hot enough to use. Upon further internet research, it seems many people have had a similar experience with this substandard product. It is also difficult to disassemble, dissuading anyone from attempting a repair.

Won't heat up and have read the instructions several times to make sure I am doing it right. Wish I had kept my old iron I bought in the late 70's. I am very disappointed with Black & Decker. From the few reviews I have read says this is a piece of junk. Makes me rethink buying from Black & Decker.
