[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this iron for a month now and I love it! It has a feel of a nice, older "classic" irons. It glides very easily, has one dial to adjust the temperature and no leaks. It fills easily and the iron has been nice and professional. So simple to use. Highly recommended!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as good as it used to be

I bought this iron several months ago, and I'm very unhappy with it! The iron spits water out constantly from the bottom, and leaks from the reservoir opening. I have taken to putting just a tad bit of water in the iron to use on the steam setting to try to avoid the water spitting out. Even that doesn't seem to help. I can never iron something at the last minute because all of the water spitting out leaves the clothes damp. I am ironing right now, and have decided that I am throwing this iron away and going back to another brand that I used prior. The newer version of the Classic iron is certainly not as well-made as the original.

Doesn't work

Won't heat up and have read the instructions several times to make sure I am doing it right. Wish I had kept my old iron I bought in the late 70's. I am very disappointed with Black & Decker. From the few reviews I have read says this is a piece of junk. Makes me rethink buying from Black & Decker.

Loved it while it worked

Have had about a year and only use it to iron fabric. Have been so careful to place on the floor on a hot pad so the cat can't knock it down. Used it yesterday, unplugged it and it started leaking water really bad.

The Shut-off Feature
on June 18, 2018

I have used the Classic iron for years. When one stopped working, I would buy another. The last one has the 3 way shut off and, for this reason, I am very dissatisfied with this iron. Because of this feature, it takes me twice as long to get the job done because it shuts off too much. I came here to learn if this feature remains and since it does, I will never buy another one. The instructions say to "tap" the iron to return it to the heat & steam but tapping does not work. I am tired of having to commit assault and battery on my iron to get it to work. Can the shut-off feature be by-passed by the owner? If ever this feature is not on the iron, I would love to have another.

Love & Hate relationship
on July 28, 2018

I had a Black & Decker traditional iron for 20 years that I absolutely loved. I loved the heavy weight and simple features. When it finally died, I bought a new Classic iron with the auto shut-off, green light/red light (couldn't find a traditional one). This is where the "hate" comes in. It shuts off while I'm ironing - steam & heat gone! Please bring back your original one without the auto shut-off.

Auto Shut Off

This is a great iron WHEN IT IS HOT, but I can't figure out why it seems to shut off - needing to reheat, but what is the light? Green = ready or heating? No light = ? Red Flashing light seems to be about to shut off completely. I'd give it a 5 if I could find out how to keep it hot without much interruption. Cooling down while ironing isn't so great. I'm all for auto shut-off in general.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This iron gets the job done. I am not one who cares for all the bells and whistles and techy products. Plug in and go. The product looks great and works great. If you want an iron that works and is simple to use this is the iron for you.
