takes to long to heat water

This is our second pot - first one worked great!! Newer one takes forever to heat water. Did they change something??

Coleman 12 cup Stainless Steel Percolator

Coleman coffee maker percolator bottom support plat has a small slot cut out to feed the water into the tube. Results is that very little water is force up the tube.
see photos showing the difference of this plate. Old one has two holes to allow the hot water under the base so provides greater flow quicker. Punching two holes help?

Great coffeemaker, but . . .

My parents have had one of these since they first came out. It’s made hundreds of pots of coffee for all of us. I just got a trailer and bought my own. Works as expected.
Two things Coleman if you read these-
It needs a carry case & a stainless steel carafe.
I don’t know about you but the I like to savor my coffee by the fire. The pot gets cold before we get through it.

Love this coffee maker

Perfect coffee every time. I do need some help with a problem--the swing out basket that holds the coffee broke (where the plastic pins go into holes so that the basket can spin out). This is the 2nd coffeemaker that has done this and the last one is brand new. Is it possible to buy a replacement basket?

Excellent coffee maker, DO NOT TURN BURNER UP HIGH, MEDIUM OR LOWER IS PERFECT, makes a whole pot in about 15-20 mins, before perking make sure basket is closed properly, make sure carafe is pushed in straight so the rear button is pressed in to let the coffee out as it perks, otherwise a perfect coffee maker like any you'd have in your home
