How many heating elements does this have

We recently received this as a Christmas gift from our daughter since she didn't like our existing toaster. Even at heat level 6, the toast is mushy on one side. The only elements that I see heating up are on the outside. If there is a heating element on the inside/center they never heat up, even on the bagel setting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the toaster is not toasting evenly: Is the crumb tray in place? This will affect toasting performance. Make sure the crumb tray is clean. When toasting two slices at a time, the slices should be of equal size and freshness to ensure even toasting.

Great Toaster!

I glad I purchased it. I like that you can lift the toast up cuz I have slices of bread/bagel that are smaller at times. And it looks nice on my cabinet!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have bought 2 of theses toasters in the past month because I have had to return the toast level will not stay down as soon as pushed down pops right back up I even set it to the darkest and that didn’t work will be returning this one now also cause of the same thing will definitely be buying a different brand

Thank you for reaching out to Oster®. We are sorry to hear that the latch of your toaster does not stay down. No worries, we are here to help. In some cases, this is caused by a build-up of crumbs in the bottom of the toaster. You may try to unplug the unit. Let it rest for a few minutes and turn it upside down to see if some bread crumbs will come out. Then, try using the toaster again. Also, the toaster must be plugged into a direct wall outlet and have power running to it, otherwise the lever will not stay down.

We've had this toaster for a few months with moderate results. Today it caught on fire while toasting a pop tart.
