Left out feeling I have been neglected by Panasoni

I use HomeHawk window cameras and a door camera I'm concerned about continued support by Panasonic. The door still works but functionality is outdated. Will Panasonic support continue? I want to know if Panasonic will introduce a replacement for the KN=HNB700/05??

Best investment

I probably bought the camera 6 years ago, never had an issue with it, still working perfectly, installed the app on my phone I can hear and see clearly videos no need to pay any additional fees, simple affordable and great product.

Poor resolution

In this day and age, resolution of only 1080p is really not acceptable… we expect 4k and people should hold out until Panasonic upgrades it

Worth the buy!

Great Video with Detection Issues

While the camera claims maximum signal strength the iOS application consistently disconnects from the camera. In addition, while playing back video from the camera with the iOS application the video stream hesitates independent of using UDP or TCP. In fact this behavior seems to be correlated to activity in the scene in that the processor in the camera appears to be overwhelmed while processing detections.
The camera detects motion from reflected light at night even with the camera set to the lowest detection sensitivity. In the end at best I could only have active three cells for detection, otherwise the camera was triggering on motion ten or more times per hour. While this high false alarm rate for motion is an issue, if reporting is limited to person detection this feature seems to work correctly. In fact the camera will detect a person, if allowed, across the street moving from their car into their house. Note this is not necessary what I wanted and another reason to limit the detection criteria to only a few cells covering the entry walk to the front door.
Video quality is very good, but mounted to a double glazed window, internal reflections at night causes false alarms in cells that otherwise have no motion. This appears to be a fundamental issue with the technology of putting the camera behind a double glazed window.
Depending on your use case this camera can be a benefit, such as wide area 24x7 recording without detection as a priority, where one can go back to the video for evidence. That said for watching an entryway it is likely that other solutions with a far more limited field of view might be a better option to limit false alarms.

If you are experiencing issues with the HomeHawk app on your phone, please make sure that the app runs on the newest version and try reinstalling the app onto your phone. The detection area for movement and people is wide as we want to make sure that we are covering a larger detection area, to ensure safety and reliability. If the motion detection sensor is picking up small changes even with the lowest sensitivity setting we would advise resetting the camera by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds with a tool that has a thin tip, like a pen. After reset please perform the initial setup of the camera. Once the initial setup is complete you can set the Motion Sensitivity to “Very Low” by pressing the tools icon on the Windows camera option, then selection “Detection” then “Motion Sensitivity".

Nice basic camera

I bought this camera in January 2024. It has been exactly what I need to monitor my Front porch. Recently I had to reset the camera and now I can’t seem to get the notifications.
I would recommend this to a friend!
