Great sound quality and bass!!!

The soundbar is great! Previously I have had Bose and Samsung home theater systems, due to the price I was really considering Bose again but I like Samsung so thought to give it another shot. It was easy to install and control from the Samsung TV and phone. I decided to test it out with the new Superman movie for the fight scenes and sonic boom from the flights. It sounded so good that I ended up watching the whole movie again.

Loving the theatre experience with 11.1.4 ATMOS

Loved the ATMOS speakers and complete soround system experience. It is on par with theatre experience watching movies on my Samsung 100 inches neo mini LED TV with Q-Series speakers. I highly recommend Q-Series 11.1.4.

Easy Setup and Great Sound

At first I was scared of the big box in my den, afraid to open it as I did not have any experience with setting up a wireless system. My daughter eventually took all the items out and set up the system. I could not believe how easy it was to connect to my Samsung TV so I can experience the Q symphony. The wireless rear speakers and wireless sub-woofer were a breeze to connect. The sound from this system is amazing. My wife was even impressed with the sound quality. This system provides a true surround sound listening experience, especially with all the channels in the actual soundbar.

Great for 4K TVs with full sound capabilities

I have several other smaller Samsung Soundbars. This is my first higher end Soundbar. I wanted something that matched my Samsung neoQLED TV. This soundbar has great center sound and the dialogue is very clear. Its no joke that Ive been missing lots of the lower dialogue in movies. Makes watching movies and shows much better experience. The sub-woofer works well enough for me and will shake the house on certain movies and music so you get a full experience. The rear surround speaker are nice and with the right movie and soundtrack they come to life. I wish they were a bit louder at times. All the components are good quality. All of them connect via Bluetooth on thier own. I did connect the soundbar to my TV with a HDMI cable. This soundbar will pass full 4K where the cheaper ones will not. The system gets loud on the right soundtracks. Not all movie soundtrack are created equal so it depends. That's not a fault of the soundbar. I look forward to getting a new 4K Blu-ray player and playing some good 4K movies that have ATMOS sound. I wish Samsung still made HD Blue-ray and 4K players as I don't like mix and matching other brands. I was wary of updating the firmware given the past issues but I finally did it and it was fine. I did watch Netflix Grey Man and that sound was very good and rocked my living room even at lover 25-35 setting on the volume. This soundbar and new TV has made my living room and much better experience and 100x better then just the 40watt built in TV speakers

Incredible Sound!

I paired this soundbar and surround speakers with a brand new Samsung 83" TV and the entire experience watching TV, movies, or playing video games is incredible! The sound is crystal clear and the bass is amazing. The space fit setting is perfect and I am blown away by the quality of sound this system puts out.

Hi Chris,

We appreciate you providing your feedback and experience with the HW-Q990D soundbar. Please know there are a wide range of audio adjustments available to tune the sound to your liking.

You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.

Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.

1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.

Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.
