I have the previous year's, and it sold me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I redid my finished basement into a media room and bar and after having the previous year's version in my living room, it was not even up for debate in what I would be using for this project. A lot of what I like is not really having to touch the sound bar remote because it just works and works right. I cannot turn it all the way up as it would be way too loud down there. It fills up the room no matter if I am watching a movie or listening to music videos and I ran sound professionally.

Almost perfect. Needs broader/stronger bass or ...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This system is fantastic with the exception of bass. The bass could be stronger.
There are 2 ways to accomplish this: 1. Build a stronger bass. 2. Simply put a coax output for a 3rd party sub. I personally would be fine/prefer the latter as many HT setups have dual sub with variance ranging from 8" to 15".
I have yet to verify various modes including Atmos. Still enjoying the small footprint and dynamic sound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best sounding sound bar I've had. For once in my adult life I don't have a hard team hearing dialogue.
Super easy to set up. Basically just plugged it in and attached to my TV and it was up and running. I rarely have to fiddle with the audio settings unless I switch it to night mode.

Mind blowing features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t sure a soundbar could really deliver theater-quality audio, but the Q Series 11.1.4 proved me wrong. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X effects are unreal — you can actually feel sound coming from above and behind, thanks to the rear speakers and those upward-firing drivers. It’s like being dropped right into the middle of a movie scene. What surprised me most was how clear everything sounds: dialogue is sharp, even during loud action scenes, and the bass is deep without being overwhelming. Whether I’m gaming, watching movies, or just streaming music, it sounds incredible. Setup was easy, and the wireless rear speakers make the whole system feel clean and modern. Honestly, it’s the best upgrade I’ve made to my home setup in years.

It does not work, sound breaks

Thank you for taking a moment to review the Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner.
2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model
2. Download the firmware file (USB type).
3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name.
4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar.
5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes.
- During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB.
- If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it.
- When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
- Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported.
6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off

Best bar I have ever heard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually mostly for TV shows and movies but the sound is great. My wife often makes me pause the sound to make sure that no one is in the house because the sound truly become for every direction and it's easily heard. Our bedroom ceiling is vaulted and the sound still bounces properly around us as if we were in the middle of everything. I'm definitely thinking about getting another one for another room in the house.

Easy setup and Amazing Sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a receiver with a 5.1 setup before purchasing this soundbar. This soundbar not only sounds better, but it was easier to setup and calibrate. I have had it for a few months and have zero complaints or issues, only great audio! I mainly use the sound bar for gaming and movies. The audio is always crisp, immersive, and top-notch. I would highly recommend this series of a soundbar to anyone.
