Bought this like 3 weeks ago.. is it worth the selling amount? Nope.. klipch sounded better with deeper bass
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate you taking a few moments to review the Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar. Please know there are a wide range of audio adjustments available to tune the sound to your liking.
You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.
You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.
1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.
Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.

Awesome sound and ease of setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This soundbar is great for Movies, videos and TV. For music, my older dedicated Stereo system with big speakers just sounds better and more pure. The setup is easy - just plug it in and it works without messing around. The Symphony is nice but I could barely hear the difference - however I can tell it's there if I pay close attention. The bass is good, but not earth shattering. If you don't think it's enough, your expectations are too high. You are the problem. Find this at the right price and it's an incredible value. I'll never be without this soundbar again. It's a game changer.

Powerful, Immersive, and Surprisingly Refined… 👍

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending a few weeks with the Samsung Q990D, I can confidently say this soundbar pushes home theater sound to impressive new heights — though not without some familiar echoes from its predecessor.
What immediately stands out is the sheer scale and clarity. The 11.1.4 channel setup with true wireless rear speakers and subwoofer creates an incredibly immersive surround sound experience. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content really shine here. Sounds feel like they come from all around and even above you, which transforms movie nights completely.
Dialogue clarity is excellent — voices stay crisp even during action-packed sequences. Bass is deep and punchy but tight, without overwhelming the room. Music playback is surprisingly balanced as well, making this soundbar versatile beyond movies and TV.

You have to lock in and buy them, these speakers are the best and super budget friendly, I love these speakers, the rear speakers are the best, I love these when playing games and watching movies that have dolby atmos, if you pair them with a samsung TV Q-Symphony is the best thing out there, these are loud and clear, man dont think about it get them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded my home audio setup to the [Your Soundbar Model Name, e.g., Samsung HW-Q990D (if that's the model)] 11.1.4 ch Wireless Dolby ATMOS Soundbar with Rear Speakers (2024), and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience.
Sound Quality (This is the most important part!):
Overall Impression: The sound quality is simply [phenomenal/breathtaking/astounding/incredible]. The 11.1.4 channels create a truly immersive soundscape that [fills the room/envelops you/puts you right in the middle of the action].
Dolby Atmos: The Dolby Atmos performance is where this system truly shines. [Describe an example: e.g., "Helicopters sound like they are genuinely flying overhead," or "Rain scenes feel incredibly realistic, with sound coming from all directions."]. The height channels add a dimension to movies and even music that I've never experienced at home before.
Clarity & Dialogue: Dialogue is [crystal clear/crisp and easy to understand], even during intense action sequences. I no longer find myself reaching for the remote to adjust volume for speech.

Really great surround sound system!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely a great surround sound system. But also a wonderful all around audio system. From Bluetooth from my Samsung 23ultra or for streaming music from an app on the tv... to watching a great action packed movie or a kids movie with my son. The realistic sound from the Q Series sound system is packed full of unbelievably awesome powerful fullness. Really great for hosting parties or a nice calm evening of relaxing sounds. Just as any of the Samsung products, the Q series definitely does not disappoint and will continue to make Samsung my choice over and over again!
