Blown Away by the HW-Q990D — Theater-Level Experie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently upgraded to the Samsung HW-Q990D/ZA soundbar, and it completely transformed my home entertainment experience. From the moment I set it up, I was impressed by how easy the process was — seamless connection to my Samsung TV and quick configuration through the SmartThings app.
The sound quality is just phenomenal. With its 11.1.4 channel setup and Dolby Atmos support, the audio truly surrounds you. Whether I’m watching action-packed movies, quiet dramas, or listening to music, the clarity, depth, and spatial effects are on another level. The wireless rear speakers and subwoofer deliver booming bass and crisp highs, creating a real cinematic feel.
I especially love the Q-Symphony feature — it perfectly syncs with my Samsung TV’s speakers, creating a fuller and more immersive soundstage. Voice clarity during dialogue-heavy scenes is another huge plus, and the adaptive sound mode adjusts beautifully depending on the content.
If you want theater-quality sound at home without a complicated setup, the HW-Q990D is a no-brainer. I highly recommend it and honestly wish I had made the switch sooner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my soundbar for movies, games, tv shows, news, whatever! This thing is unparalleled in sound. Night mode shuts it up (enough). I don't know how I lived without voice enhancement. Still, I haven't even mentioned the Alexa functionality with the built-in mic. But, the best part? Pairing this bad boy with my phone to listen to music. I haven't yet found out how loud this unit gets, but it fills the entire house with sound at less than 50 percent volume. I'm glad I bought this!

Great sound - for a soundbar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While you won't be fooled into thinking you're listening to a surround sound / Atmos home theater system, you also won't have to pay for one either.
Very good sound, if you add the optional rear speakers - without them you will notice something missing.
Will admit I am frequently irritated by the absence of a dedicated Soundbar (+ any other Samsung AV device) app.
I use the Smatthings Hub yet I would prefer a full featured app and maybe even a real remote.

But those issues are nitpick. The simplicity backed up by a rich sounding, convincing Atmos / surround sound profile pushed out by a small yet handsome soundbar makes the Q series well worth the price.
And I bet we will see an update with version of Galaxy AI designed for the soundbar in the near future!

Amazing sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this sound system. The wireless speakers make setting this up easy. Just installed some hanging shelves on the wall and viola! My wife (and sometimes myself included) will trip out when it the adaptive sound makes it feel like the sounds are around us. Well worth it!

Right out of the box, setup was surprisingly easy. No messing with tons of wires – just plug in and connect. But the sound... oh, the sound!
Movies? Forget about it. Dolby Atmos is unreal. Sounds truly fly over and around you. Explosions rumble, dialogue is crystal clear thanks to the dedicated center channel, and those wireless rear speakers make you feel like you're inside the action. Seriously, I'm hearing things in my favorite films I never knew existed!
And for gaming? It's next-level. The Game Mode Pro really makes a difference, picking out subtle cues and immersing you deeper. It’s a total game-changer.
Even for just watching regular TV, the Adaptive Sound is fantastic. It automatically adjusts, so whispers are clear and loud commercials don't blast you out of your seat. Plus, if you have a Samsung TV, Q-Symphony syncs perfectly, making the sound even bigger.
The wireless subwoofer delivers serious bass without being obnoxious, and the whole system just fills the room with rich, detailed audio. It's truly cinematic, and it makes every viewing experience an event. If you want a truly immersive home audio experience without the hassle of a complex setup, the Q990D is absolutely amazing.
