Great sound, terrible smart services.

Sounds is amazing, great setup for surround with plenty of bass. The only problem is it disconnects from the Smart Things app, meaning it can’t be online to use smart services like Alexa etc. Each time this happens I have to factory reset the soundbar, which is a major hassle. This happened with my last Samsung soundbar also, the Q950T I believe. When Alexa is working, it gets triggered way too easily, interrupting the sound of whatever we’re watching. You can mute the mic, but that turns on a bright red light on the front of the soundbar which is very distracting in a dark room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We appreciate you providing your feedback and experience with the HW-Q990D soundbar. Please know there are a wide range of audio adjustments available to tune the sound to your liking.

You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.

Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.

You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.

1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.

Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.

Not Enough Bass

I bought the HW-Q930D and ended up returning it because the subwoofer didn't have enough bass that you could feel when watching movies. These have been movies with explosions in them, music, and other action scenes that worked to test this.
Recently got this model, the HW-Q990D after being told that the bass is more powerful and a much better system.
After setting it up and watching a few movies to test it, the sound in general is good.
Unfortunately, I don't hear that much bass from it, and not much difference from the system I returned. Have it set to the max level on the subwoofer and the bass levels.
Does not even shake the rooms or you can feel it much on the sofa. I have it on the right side of the sofa and have a tile floor.
I read others reviews saying that it shakes their room and has amazing bass sound.
I don't think is worth the price that paid for when can get a system for less money that might get better bass sound.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
1. Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the level between -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

Perfect sound system

We purchased this 85" FRAME TV 2 months ago, and love it. Enjoy the beautiful pictures/paintings on display. Love having the choice of what art to view. Also, enjoy the fact that you can choose how often the picture changes. The installation was straightforward and well explained. Love the OneConnect hub. Also, the surround sound bluetooth speakers are fantastic. Excellent quality and exactly what we wanted. Enjoy the choices it offers to sound quality. Highly recommend this sound system, avoiding all the wires to connect the peripheral speakers and woofer. Great sound that fills our 40 foot great room. 5 star all the way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] poor Bass-difficulty controlling sound. Rear speakers work well but needs more Bass control. At first connected easily then difficulty with connection. Had to send in for repair. Instructions need work!!
