False advertising

I bought this thought to be wireless surround sound speakers only to find out that they require 120vac to operate. The item written description says wireless, the item graphics depicts no wires attached. I had to pay an electrician to install an electrical outlet on the wall I intended for the installation of my surround sound speaker

Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Plugging a power cable to each rear speaker eliminates any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.

If you are used to real HiFi do not buy.

Sound is too hyped up. No matter how you set things, bass is either too much or non existent. Sounds terrible for music as well. Very bright an fatiguing. Very over priced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate you providing your feedback and experience with the HW-Q990D Soundbar. Please know there are a wide range of audio adjustments available to tune the sound to your liking.
You can manually optimize your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (which looks like a gear), you can set the audio function such as Auto EQ, Spacefit sound, AVA, Voice Enhance mode, Night mode, Sync, Surround speaker mode, Virtual. The desired item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons.
You can try quickly optimizing the audio by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.
To control the volume of each speaker, press the CH LEVEL button on the provided remote. Then select CENTER LEVEL, SIDE LEVEL, WIDE LEVEL, FRONT TOP LEVEL, REAR LEVEL, or REAR TOP LEVEL. Once you find the channel you are looking for, adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.
There are multiple ways to control the bass levels for your new Soundbar.
1) Using the WOOFER button on the provided Soundbar remote. Use the woofer button by pushing forward or pulling backward on the button itself to adjust the bass levels between -12 or -6/+6. If you want to reset the bass to 0 then push the button in.
2) When you press the TONE CONTROL button, you can adjust the treble or bass levels between -6/+6.
Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best QSymphony sound. Don’t need my hearing aid to hear the TV. Sounds are clear and dialogue is easy to understand. Love it for college football games and movies. Bass is terrific and adds to the theater atmosphere

One year after purchase and issues still remain!

First let me say the sound from this package is amazing. I paired this with a 98” tv for an impressive media room. The issue I have is in order for q-symphony to work between the tv and sound bar I literally have to reset the sound bar EVERY SINGLE TIME. Samsung sent a tech out and he changed some setting in the menus that only they have access to but it didn’t fix the issue. They next replaced the entire sound bar system but the problem remains….A YEAR LATER…. and now they fail to respond.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When the Soundbar is connected “Q-Symphony” menu appears on the TV Settings → All Settings → Sound → Sound Output.
First, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Next, update the firmware on your soundbar. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to download the SmartThings app and connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. This will allow you to not only download any firmware updates but also control your entire soundbar on the screen of your smart device.
Please also verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. The LED display changes as follows: White moves from left to right and right to left, and the middle LED blinks Cyan 3 times. Then the middle LED will blink RED and turn off.

Great System

This product is a great investment. I have been enjoying the great sound output since I purchased this amazing soundbar and nothing else can compare to the quality. My only concern was that the surround sound rear speakers don’t work without being plugged in to a 120Vac outlet. I found that to be somewhat deceptive because everything i read and saw about the product did not in any way describe it as being wired. For that I was disappointed being that my intention was to hang them on the wall and that cost me more money to have an outlet mounted in the position intended for the surround sound rear speakers
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this system a few months ago and I could not be more pleased! This wireless surround sound system has exceeded all my expectations! The quality at all levels & volume is amazing! Extremely simple to setup & pair with my Samsung OLED television, & enjoy theater like sound immediately! I recommend this sound system to everyone who wants a home theater sound quality with easy wireless setup! Thank You Samsung!

Theater Level Sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I heard the sound system at my daughters and was so impressed I decided to by one of my own. It delivers theater quality sound. The bass is really terrific and fills the room with feeling. The two smaller speakers, which we have placed at the rear of the room completes filling our living room with the surround sound. It fools my dog when voices come out of the rear speakers, he things there is someone in the next room. The sound bar delivers clear voice and sound effects. We also have a Samsung TV and the Sound systems pairs very easily with the TV. We opted to pair via WiFi but you can also use HDMI, Optic cable or Blue Tooth. Installation was a snap and downloading the SmartThings App made it even easier to adjust the settings to my liking.
