Very Nice Soundbar and Surrounds with Subwoofer

This soundbar package is very nice for the price. It competes with Sonos for a fraction of the price. I have read the subwoofer is weak but I tell if you, make adjustments from your phone it really thumps. I am more than satisfied with this, also having a Sonos System this is a better deal. I love the app being able to adjust all the speakers and subwoofer. You'll be satisfied like me,

Awesome sound!

I purchased this soundbar to go along with the new 2024 OLED TV and it is absolutely amazing. I am very happy that I chose this as opposed to a Sonos set, which is what I have always owned since 2017. It was the best decision. The sound quality which comes out from this device is something that you need to experience for yourself. Words can't fully explain the awesomeness. My wife is constantly telling me to turn it down, and I tell her to go watch TV in the other room, as I am going to enjoy it.

So immersive, it confuses small children

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from a 5.0 Sonos system, and the 11.1.4 that the Q990D offers is a significant improvement.
First of all, the sub is amazing. Just having that LFE channel at all really opens up the range of the audio content, but the included sub for this system is top tier. I found the option on the remote to change the bass level to be a great addition, since it makes it simple to turn down during naps and back up after.
Second, this soundbar is HUGE. Anything less than a 55" TV will be absolutely dwarved. It is almost twice the size of the Sonos Beam (Gen 1). It is also heavy, so plan your placement accordingly or consider wall mounting it. The sound quality of this thing is astounding, you don't know what you've been missing until you hear it.
Third, the satellite speakers are of the same high quality as the rest of the system. Also considerably heavy, I've opted to wall mount these as well. I love how the side speakers on the sound bar and each of these work together to make a circumference of amazing sound.
Lastly, how amazing is the Dolby Atmos/surround performance? Well, my 4YO was watching me play a game, where there was a waterfall about mid range from the player. They went to the right rear speaker looking for it, saying "there's water over here". They ended up following the sound around the room as I turned the player in place, which was quite entertaining.

My soundbar Q990D is bricked after update after few weeks purchased. Call Samsung and live chat but still not sure how to fix this problem . No more Samsung products not recommended

Samsung update broke soundbar

Bricked. Samsung firmware update rendered the soundbar useless. It will not output sound, it will not change inputs, it will not connect to wifi, and it is not recognized in smart things app. It is now a very expensive paperweight. Samsung has done nothing to address this publicly.

Excellent acoustic sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a bose, then I bought a klipsch cinema 800 which was a huge mistake. So I dove into samsung an I must say I am incredibly impressed with this sound bar. I can actually hear what people are saying in movies, the quality of the sound is absolutely amazing. I do wish there was more bass but I am extremely pleased with the rest.

It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the sound quality of your HW-Q990D Soundbar! With 11 front-facing speakers, 1 subwoofer and 4 up-firing channels, you’ll be immersed in sound all around as it fills your room with bold, multi-channel audio you can feel from all angles. And with a rear speaker kit included, your complete home theater experience is right in the box.

There are two adjustments can be made to maximize bass from the soundbar and subwoofer:
1. Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the level between -6 to +6. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button in.

2. Adjust the bass control by pressing the TONE CONTROL button on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

Alternatively, you can adjust all of these same settings and more within the SmartThings app. Download the app for your iOS or Android device and then connect your Soundbar to Wi-Fi. From here, you will be able to adjust all of the same settings as the provided remote, but with the added benefit of being able to see the changes on your smart device.

Superb crisp and rich sound bar system.

Easy to install, and to set up/pair, which allow me enough time to customize its settings to get the best sound and my system. This soundbar is so awesome, that I actually purchased a second sound bar (Q900) for my main bedroom system. Super pleased with it.
