I just purchased the five eye downdraft Kitchenaid electric cooktop. I haven't had it long but, am thoroughly pleased. Not only is the unit attractive, it heats up very fast. The three speed downdraft works very well. Good decision on my purchase of this unit!

We bought this cooktop to replace an old cooktop in the new home we bought. Because we needed a 36 inch downdraft model, we had very few to choose from, which was a concern. We have had the cooktop for a little over a month and are very pleased with the brand and model. We love the variety of choice for all our pots and pan sizes. We also just love how sleek the cooktop looks. Couldn't be happier!

Remodeled my kitchen and replaced a 30 year old Jenn-Air with the Kitchen Aid. So far, so good. Just have to get used to the glass top ! Really looks nice with my all stainless steel appliances (Love the SS trim & knobs).

I really love my new cooktop. It's so easy to clean and the dual elements really heat up fast. Great feature showing that the element is still how by keeping the red light lit.

Purchased this 36" 5-burner electric range to replace my 2000 GE 4 - burner. Size wise I love this new one. My old one had a very annoying and stupidly placed rim around each of the two sets of burners that made the cooking surface only about 9 inches each (although it was a 30 inch range). I honestly didn't have many options for an electric cooktop because we had to have a downdraft per code. So it was between the KA and a Kenmore. I chose KA simply b/c Lowe's was offering a rebate at the time. I didn't look closely before I ordered and didn't realize that one of the burners in strictly "Keep Warm" and unfortunately, it's the burner right up front. Would be better suited in the back I think. Anyway, I do like the dual zone which allows for larger pots. He heats up faster than my old one did. The downdraft is WEAK--barely pulls steam off a pot--which isn't a huge negative for me because I rarely use it. My #1 biggest complaint about this appliance is that it looks dirty CONSTANTLY. A drop of water from a pot, dust in the air, a wet wipe smear--it all shows up!! My previous one was a gray/black mottled finish so I didn't have this issue that the all black finish has. I feel like I have to clean it everyday even when it's not used much just because of how it looks. Drives me crazy. Honestly just hadn't considered this factor before the purchase. Functionally works great. Aesthetics-wise, drives me NUTS!
Pros: Performance, easy to use
Cons: downdraft is weak, always looks dirty
