This is my second Epson printer. It always tells me that I need more ink, when I install it still doesn't work. This printer is AWFUL! Do yourself a favor & spend a little more $ for one that actually works properly.

Terrible in ink!!!

I bought 3 months ago. I hardly use the colors inks, because I used it for my office, so I use black and white.
So If YOU don't use much the colors, they will dry ONE by ONE, as fast as 3 months , and won't let you print at all if ANY of the colors is empty or DRY.
and /or print in black even though your black ink is new.
So it has like 3 different colors that you will have to replace and beside to buy this brand ink is NOT cheap.
I am getting rid of this machine, I won't buy more cartridges which will cost me as much as a new printer.

I can't tell you how this printer works as they did not include a USB cable so it doesn't work. If your not going to have it in there you should let the public know so we don't have to make a second trip to the store with gas being over $4 a gallon, yes!! I'm upset!

Spend a little extra on something better.

Spend a little extra money elsewhere and get a better machine; this one has issues.
I had another brand printer that was a great printer for four years until it broke down on me, so I went with the Epson NX127 as a replacement because it was cheap. Setup was pretty easy, but after that it's all downhill with this machine. It sucks ink three times faster than the old one did. I've had it two months and already had to replace the ink TWICE. It uses separate cartridges for different ink colors, and WILL NOT let you print if one of your cartridges is empty, whether you're using that color or not does not matter. The cartridges are a pain to replace because they're hidden under an access panel that only lets you remove one at a time. The paper-in tray only holds maybe 12 pages; any more and it jams when you try to print. It cannot print combined colors very well in "fast" mode; for example it prints yellow and blue stripes instead of a solid green. (Print quality is OK in "document and picture" mode though.) And, EVERY time you print a document you have to go into the print options and select "Reverse Order" or else it prints the first page first so your last page ends up on TOP of the pile; then you must manually re-order your document pages before you staple them. I don't know why they didn't make "reverse order" the default setting. If you ONLY want to use the scan function, then it might be ok because that seems to work fine, but as a printer for documents it is not my favorite.
If I had my money back to spend again, I would not buy this printer. I probably would've listened to the salesman who tried to push a more expensive machine on me after I told him, "I want a photo & document scanner that can also print documents from my computer. I don't care about photo printing because I don't print photos. I don't want wireless because I don't have wireless access at home. USB will be fine."

Good if you don't need to print!

I bought this printer to bring with me to an Army school that I was attending for three months. I needed something that was fairly inexpensive, but that I could use to print off notes and the occasional powerpoint slide.
This printer is horrible! It sucks up ink like crazy! I've printed maybe 20 pages and the black ink is already almost gone. I've had it for a month! I cannot figure out how to lower the print quality (to save on ink) without using the draft setting that prevents me from being able to read the notes that I'm printing. The settings are impossible to use and none of them seem to help save on ink.
Also, it prints slowly and jams often. Recently it's been spitting out 3 blank pages for every printed page.
Finally, I just looked up the costs for replacement ink cartridges, and the replacement pack (with all 4 cartridges) costs twice as much as what I paid for the printer itself!
I gave this printer 2 stars because it does scan well and the copies aren't too bad (still uses a lot of ink and prints slowly, but the quality isn't bad).
Basically, if you have to use ink for whatever you are doing, this printer is not the one you want to use!

A good value for the price paid. It gives excellent quality with both scanning and printing. The only draw back is the high cost of ink cartridges.

I like the printer however I do not like that when the colored ink runs out even if you are trying to print something with just black you cannot until all the ink is filled. I feel that the ink for this product is expensive for the amount of cartriges that you have to purchase.
