I've got it hooked up with my Phillips Hue bridge and lights on 3 levels of my home. I use Alexa to play music, set timers and reminders and to turn my lights on and off and dim them or change the color. Even my wife who hates technology is using the dot's I've purchased. It's a great game. I just wish you could play it off line. I don't play online games and prefer to play alone or with my friends on my local LAN. Online only games are a pain to deal with. More passwords and user IDs to remember and I can't play when I'm not connected. There's no good technical reason they can't make games like this single player offline or LAN only.

Not much to say. It's a 2TB USB 3.0 external hard drive. It runs like a champ and does what it's supposed to do. I use it to backup personal files about once a week. I did buy a longer USB 3.0 cable. And I found out that not all cables are made the same. The first cable I bought would not run at USB 3.0 speeds and I had to buy a second. The cable that comes with the drive is perfectly okay it's just not long enough when connecting to a full tower case with USB ports at the top.

Cross Platform support
Does this passport have proprietary Windows software preinstalled on it? The reason I ask is because I would be using it with mainly Macs and Linux-based computers. I need a general harddrive that all of the operating systems can use.
There is software preinstalled but you can format the drive for use with a MAC. There are apps for MAC on the drive as well as windows. You may want to take a look before getting rid of them. It's just some backup software and security software.

Could this back-up an SD card full of pictures without being connected to an laptop or the internet?
No. It requires an operating system to be useful. It has to be connected to a system running either Windows, Mac iOS or Linux.
