The second season of the Canadian crime drama Continuum follows Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols), a cop from the year 2077, as she attempts to prevent a terrorist group from enacting a devastating attack that would permanently alter the course of history.
I liked the 1st season of Continuum quite a bit. Season 2 went off the tracks. I hope Season 3 pulls it back together. The quality of the DVD is acceptable, not great but OK.
In the fourth season of this family cop drama, Frank (Tom Selleck) must deal with an NYPD inspector (Bebe Neuwirth), and he's not happy about his police force being subjected to this extra level of scrutiny. One of the inspector's first targets is Eddie (Vanessa Ray) a rookie who's been partnered with Jamie (Will Estes). Jamie lands in plenty of hot water himself throughout the season, including a suspension and a civil suit. However, things get downright dangerous for Erin (Bridget Moynahan), who's legal work leads her to get abducted--twice. Meanwhile, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) faces several blasts from the past, including an old girlfriend who's dating a drug dealer, a childhood pal connected to the mob and a troubled military vet who stirs up dark memories for him. Wahlberg makes his directorial debut with the episode "Manhattan Queens."
I was late to the table on Blue Bloods, I was turned off by yet another NY detective/police show. But I didn't know what I was missing. After I purchased the 1st season and watched a couple of episodes I and my whole family were hooked. Great show, the 4th season was the best yet. The DVD quality is acceptable but all the companies are trying to save another penny on packaging. At least no one does those awful snap cases anymore.
In this update of Washington Irving's classic tale, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) wakes up in the 21st century but finds his 18th-century nemesis, the Headless Horseman, has also come along for the ride. After a local sheriff (Clancy Brown) is killed, Crane teams up with Det. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) to sort out the mystery and its historical implications, though her supervisor, Capt. Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) is skeptical of all the supernatural shenanigans. And as Season 1 unfolds, these otherworldly events include encounters with menacing demons, frightening explorations of purgatory and impending visits by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Sleepy Hollow got off to somewhat of a slow start because it needed a longer than average time to establish the story and the characters. Once that happened it took off and became one of the most enjoyable shows on the TV. I am a Sci-Fy and time travel nut, so this fits me very well. The DVD quality is acceptable, don't expect anything near to blu-ray quality.
This set contains every episode from the second season of Elementary, the update of Sherlock Holmes that stars Jonny Lee Miller as the gifted but troubled sleuth and Lucy Liu as his faithful assistant, Watson.
As with most Sherlock Holmes programs, this is intelligent and thought provoking. Highly entertaining. I had some trouble warming up to Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock, but he now has me totally won over. The character development has been steady, giving the characters more interest and humanity. The 2nd season was even better than the 1st. A must have.
The second season of "Under the Dome" (based on the Stephen King novel of the same name) continues to follow the residents of Chester's Mill after finding themselves inexplicably cut off from the world by a transparent dome surrounding their town.
This 2nd season was as good as the 1st. I had wondered if they could keep coming up with plot twists to keep up interest, they did! I am now wondering the same about Season 3, I hope they can. If you saw season 1 but not 2, you have to buy this.
This 3rd and final installment of Atlas Shrugged is uneven, some parts are incisive and other just dumb. The first 2 parts were better and more interesting. I had looked forward to the finale, thinking it should be the most enjoyable, but was disappointed. However, if you saw the first 2 parts, then you should also watch this to tie up loose ends.
