This updated Blu-ray looks fabulous on my new 4K 70" TV. I can see much more detail on screen than ever before. This movie plays far more realistically than today's digital attempts at realism. Nothing beats this classic for sic-fi scary. I am glad I updated my collection with this Blu-ray.

does this come assembled

No. You have to put it together. it is SUPER heavy when it is delivered in one box. It really takes two to get inside safely. But even though the instructions says it takes two to assemble, I did this myself with no problem. Good instructions. A couple of hours later while watching a movie, it was done. The shelves are adjustable which makes this piece much more versatile.

IS it made out of any laminate?

It is all very thin lamiate except for the legs. They are metal - not chromed - but attractive. The laminate is not really high quality, but ok. For the price, it can't be beat. I am very happy with my purchase.
