I still have the unused card

I bought it for a visiting friend since she will be here for a month. For some reasons, we could not put the credit to her phone. Before we bought it, we were told that as long as her phone was an open line, the card would work on it. But we tried how to do it, it didn't work. We took it to Best Buy. They told us we have to go on line to complete the process. We didn't know what he was talking about plus my friend is going to San Francisco. I asked Best Buy to refund me and take the unused card. They don't take it as it was opened. This card is not good because to use it is complicated. And once you opened it, Best Buy wont accept it for return. Even one star does not deserve it.
