Standard fare from the Lynch Mob. It seems some of the music is getting to be routine these days and lacks some of the fire from earlier days. Still like it but left wanting more.
If you have a taste for orchestral rock, this would be your cup of tea. If you don't like orchestral music in your rock then stay away. I liked the mix of the two, though at times it felt like the vocals were minimized in favor of the strings.
This release collects every episode from season thirteen of NCIS, a successful JAG spin-off about criminal cases involving Navy and Marine personnel, handled by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
After recently watching all 13 seasons over the course of two months, and peaking ahead at unit boxes for certain developments as the show evolved there are compelling events that affect how one feels about certain characters on this show. It was quite emotional to see the outcomes of certain characters end the way they did; i.e. Ziva David, but it put a nice bow on the character Tony DiNozzo's stay at NCIS, and enabled the actor to depart for his new horizons also on the CBS network. Good and compelling show.
While he has a knack for some quirky songs, he has added some elements that are poppy to say the least. Some may be turned off by that. If you approach the music with an open mind it can be appreciated for the excellent musicianship throughout the album.
This was an in your face look at war and how one man fought for the right to serve and avoid handling a firearm. While being harassed by the rank and file and dealing with outside pressures of an family that is dysfunctional. An inspiring look at a very noble man! Thank you Mel Gibson for an excellent story!
A compelling story brought from the stage that strikes at the heart and tells what it was really like for this family in the late 50's. It also challenges at times to understand why some make bad decisions as they do. As usual Denzel was great and I can see why Viola Davis won an Oscar for her performance!
I guess Geoff Tate has lost something along the way in the last few years. Just doesn't have the jump he used to, or it is the people he is working with now, lack the edge that Queensryche regained after he departed. Kind of hoping he would change and catch fire again but he has not.
What really stuck with me was the sounds of Jethro Tull that came out ion this work... Like the variety of sounds that were explored in this package, but the Tull style works really stuck with me.
Relatively standard fare given two run trough's listening to it, may need to listen a few more times to become more enamored with it. I don't favor it like I did "Blackbird" or "AB III".
Very nice package and picked great tunes to remake in his style. Was also nice to have Paul Stanley participate in one of the tracks. Hopefully an update of New York Groove is in the future too!
